#71 Re: Guns N' Roses » Axl has evolved from UYI to CD? » 821 weeks ago
agree for the most part....I wish Axl realized that his main skill and talent is raw emotion.
Yeah, and "do I give a fuck" attitude, all in one raw vocal burst.
Which is why... I liked MyWorld!
(Runs like FUCK! )
Seriously guys, stop fighting, we ALL like different stuff, but we ALL like GnR - right?

I like and respect Aerosmith, just wanted to post this because it maybe puts some GnR antics into perspective, ie by saying that a rock and roll band isn't always going to be the very epitome of responsible normality etc etc....
Perry upset over Aerosmith tour
Aerosmith guitarist Joe Perry has spoken of his frustration at the cancellation of the band's tour after Steven Tyler fell off stage last month.
Last month, the group announced they were sidelining the rest of their North American tour, due to finish on 16 September, because of Tyler's injuries.
The singer, 61, broke his left shoulder in Sturgis, South Dakota, on 5 August.
Perry said he had not spoken to Tyler for five weeks. "I don't know what's going on with him," he said.
The Sturgis concert where Tyler sustained his injury had already been delayed by heavy thunderstorms.
The rest of the tour was cancelled after doctors told him he needed time to recuperate from his fall.
Perry told the Associated Press news agency he was upset by the cancellation because "the tour was building up to a great tour".
He added: "Right before that, he had pulled a muscle in his leg.
"And we had to take two weeks off and we missed probably seven dates."
He said: "I hear he's getting better but I don't really know what's going on with him."
But, despite hinting at differences within Aerosmith, Perry said he was there was "still life left in the old band".
"All I know is he [Tyler] has got to get his act together.
"I mean he and I haven't written a song together alone in the same room in over 10 years so there's been some changes in paradigm of what Aerosmith is."
A representative of the band was not available for comment.
Speaking after the accident, the singer said he was doing "the Tyler shuffle" when he slipped and fell.
"I'm plain grateful that I didn't break my neck," he added.

#74 Re: The Garden » Derren Brown Predicting Lottery Numbers Live on TV » 821 weeks ago
As far as I know, he just presented ping pong balls that matched the lottery, moments after? If I'm wrong and he wrote the numbers BEFORE the draw, then I may revise my opinion?

What's next.....
Die Hard: The Musical?
Yeah! Starring John Barrowman as John McClane - high kicking over those kalashnikov bullets all the time!
I vote, Predator brings the (Ridley-Scott) Alien to earth, introduces it to the John Carpenter Thing, they fuse/cuddle/do a slimy alien buttfuck, then find Rambo and Hannah Montana and go into a labyrinth to fight to the death... only the toughest will survive!

#78 Re: The Sunset Strip » Kanye West ruins Taylor Swift's MTV VMA victory » 821 weeks ago
Oh hecK I should get into the other forums more often here coz I just laughed my ARSE off! :mosh:
2 things - one, that Clippy pic was GENIUS, two, would douchenozzle Kanye have tried that shit if the best vid was being awared to Mike Tyson?
Not that he'd be best female but y'know... I think he pulled that shit (or it was maybe staged, whatever) because Taylor ffs Swift is NOT going to kick his ass - which makes the Axl reference above actually relevant, because he'd probably at least headbutt the c#nt.
Sorry but seeing a guy storm a chick's stage is all like the hate against Courtney and Yoko and now Lady Gaga, of which I only have passing time for the latter as musicians, nonethless they all score WAYYY more hate due to their gender than any male who did what they do.
Like I said - sisters, means I got the next best thing to a feminine viewpoint a guy can have, or whatever...
#79 Re: The Garden » Derren Brown Predicting Lottery Numbers Live on TV » 821 weeks ago
Just a follow up on this in case anyone's interested...
BBC news - He then promised viewers they would discover the secret of the trick on Friday's show.
During How To Win The Lottery - which attracted a peak of 4.6 million viewers - he revealed that he had worked out the lottery numbers by asking a group of 24 people to guess them.
Once he had their answers Brown said he added the numbers up for each ball and divided them by 24.
However, Roger Heath-Brown, Professor of Pure Mathematics at the University of Oxford, has dismissed Brown's explanation.
"Mathematically it is complete rubbish. It is a bluff on his part," he said.
And David Spielgelhalter, professor of public understanding of risk at the University of Cambridge added: "There is a difference between guessing between the weight of an ox and guessing lottery balls, which is un-guessable.
"That is just a clear wind-up and complete nonsense. There is absolutely no way he did that."
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/entertainment/8252235.stm
That makes my head hurt - how can 24 people have the correct average of the numbers?
Why 24? WTF?!
Some of you here are probably more schooled than me, any comments?
Meh.

Until someone works out an alternative way to make musicans be able to earn a living from their music in the age of piracy, then live ticket prices are only going to get higher.
Reminds me of the old story of the golden goose - we could wait patiently for the gold eggs on its terms, but no, we took a knife to help ourselves, and now all we have is a load of goose-guts...
I never download for free anything I can buy, but I realise that 99.9% of the world (mainly not people posting on fan forums for a band I suspect) wouln't give a damn about the long term effects, the way we've screwed the environment, and keep ON screwing it, shows that "long term" isn't our usual mode as a species.
