I've never been a fan of Metallica. I could never get passed Hetfield's trivialization of Layne's addiction to even give them a chance. Say what you will, but I love Layne and understand addiction better than I like to admit.
I've always been a fan of U2. Cornell's idea here is pretty ingenious and it works. Thanks for sharing.
No worries.
I've been a fan of Metaliica's music since I got into them in 89, loved their first 4 albums, then totally lost interest since 91. I tend to ignore their personalities as that leads to disappointment.
Respect due to you for sticking with that outlook though, its a fair viewpoint to have, if Hetfield did trivialize Layne's addiction that's a shitty thing to do and I'll agree with you 100%.
Peace.

Just watched this, Chris doing U2's One, solo, but with the lyrics from Metallica's One. Sounds like a goofy idea, till you hear him sing it.
RIP

Hardcore Henry - look it up on imdb, amazing film, like a full FPS film, with humour and a pretty good storyline. Refreshingly not Hollywood!

Shocking news, and seeing the videos of the show make it sadder. I've had Rusty Cage & Hunger Strike stuck in my head since the news broke.
I only saw SG once, supporting GnR @ Wembley UK in '93, just a casual fan I guess.
I see loads of social media have been focusing on Eddie Vedder now and articles about him as the 'last iconic grunge frontman standing', which is so obviously apparent, but its the last thing Vedder, or Pearl Jam would want, that focus.
One thing I'd be prepared to see would be the remaining SG guys coming out at a PJ show and doing one song with Vedder
on vocals. I think if there is any tribute it should be that, Cornell & PJ were close.
Shitty news.

Since it's all boiled down to drummer talk, let's watch Steven play YCBM!

Just imagine her and Axl trading vocals on a new track, or even an old track redone.
Awesome.

Its so easy. Just because of the look on my mums face when I played it to her in the car when I was 15 back in 1990. I used to play it on my stereo in my room, and just have it on real quiet, then blast "why don't you just....." At my parents downstairs.
Such a baddass track, oozes filth & sleeze, yeah!

Well I am sure the show will be awesome.
I was going to go by myself, as I went to the opening night with my gf who subsequently broke up with me when we got back to her place.
But I am trying to win her back.
So I'll save my money even though, I would love to pay the $250 for a ticket.
Fuck man.
What a shitty way to end a night out. That sucks! Hope you can win her back man.

I personally think they should have Adler play all the AFD tracks, Sorum do all the UYI stuff, and let Frank (or Brain if he wants to return) handle the CD stuff.
It would be the best of all worlds and it's not like they can't afford it!
It was be awesome if it ever happened, I doubt it would though, but I like to dream. Adler rocking Appetite, Sorum on You could be mine, DTJ, November rain, Estranged, Coma & kohd, frank on CD material. As a drummer myself, it would be absolutely perfect.
And while Adler's there bust out Mama kin, nice boys or move to the city too, great rocking tracks.

Goosebumps watching the last bit where he stood and took a bow. Amazing! Very, very happy for the guy. Can't underestimate what this must have meant to him.
