next year is prolly already sold out 16

Actually, they announced on TSN during the game that the Gold and Silver packages are already sold out.  I'm sure if I ended up in Ottawa on or shortly after Boxing Day, I'd be able to scrounge up a ticket from a scalper.  I'd be willing to dish out a couple hundred to see the boys play.

It's good that the original article was inaccurate.  I was about to commit myself from never buying music legally again in protest.  I think it's foolish that the record industry is fighting this.  As long as the technology exists to personally recreate products of identical quality and design, it's going to be hard to prevent people from downloading music.  Also, as long as I continue to read the signs at Walmart that tell me the recording industry receives royalties from every CD-R I buy, I'm not letting it get to me.

All in all, instead of fighting this, it's time for the record industry to embrace it.  Use the internet as an outlet for creativity and explore alternative measures to earn money from the music.  Maybe we could bring back vinyl or something.

I had a lovely string of 4-letter words when the Swedes tied it with 43 seconds to go.  Good thing the guys pulled through.  Canada played well in the first 2 periods but Sweden took over in the 3rd.  Nice to have 4 in a row though, with a chance for 5 next year in Ottawa.  I might make the trip out for a few games next year.

Is she that pageant queen girl?  I happened to see that episode last night by fluke last night.  It was pretty retarded.

#835 Re: The Garden » How Did You Derive Your User Name? » 923 weeks ago

Well mine's a play on Slash's name and the \ key.  It's because I'm talking about GNR on the computer and if I'm using command language I need to use the \ key.  Not only that, but when I came up with a username, I was thinking how cool it would be to "bring back Slash" in the band.

tough game to start the tournament.  Good thing we're in a division with Denmark though.

Happy Festivus everyone!! It's a great community we have here and it's nice to be together for the holidays!  I wish you and yours the very best.  I'm looking forward to lots of pictures!

#838 Re: Guns N' Roses » Why can't Axl » 925 weeks ago

Because $13 million is a lot of money.  I'm sure he doesn't have that kind of money just kicking around to waste on buying his own album from the label.  Not only that, but he has a contractual obligation to release albums under the label.  He's not legally allowed to release anything under the GNR name through another method.  Unless, of course, they're "accidental" leaks.

EDIT: I obviously started this post before James posted. 13

I think we're gonna be able to rule out 2008 pretty damn early in the year.

What's you talkin' 'bout, James? It's already ruled out in my books.  2009 is grim too.

Why the fuck is Chris Simon not suspended from the NHL for life?! The guy is a dirty player who would rather end careers than win games. He's steeped WAY out of line how many times now? He should've been permanently removed last year, but they let him come back and in like 20 games, he pulls another shit act that deserves a lifetime ban.

I have my doubts that he'll be playing once the suspension is over.  If the Isles release him, which they might do after giving him a leave of absence, he'll probably be blackballed throughout the league, much like Marty McSorley.
