That's 2020. We paid 1/6th of what we do now then. The average rate is now 5x and 30x in peak hours (we pay about 0,15 now).

I read in the UK you have to pay 30 times what we currently pay in Scandinavia for electricity in peak hours. Last month I would have gotten a bill for over $ 10,000 just for keeping the lights on.
Not to worry though, our beloved government is opening a new cable to the UK next month so that we can share in these great prices too.
But how in God's name is this possible? Nobody outside of Downing Street can afford this. Are thousands of people going to freeze to death come winter?

And I think the band knows that. Whatever reason they had for releasing Absurd it was not direct profit. I don't think it's unimaginable that they want to release an album simply because that is the old school thing to do. They probably also know that any rock song no matter how good is not going to make any kind of splash in today's music scene.
At least I pray that is the case.

This is a nothing burger. You can't expect to have rock stars bathe in young girls 24/7 without any incidents. The girls should just chop it up to youthful stupdity and move on, supposing this is just not another cash grab.

They know a live album won't generate much interest at all. They could do it as a quick cash grab but I don't get the feeling that's what this is about. Absurd as a single does not point in the direction of easy profits.

If they do release an actual physical album it will be for the sake of it, cred or whatever, not the money. That will be made indirectly on the tour.
They have a certain image to cultivate so I wouldn't discount it.

I don't see why not...

And where are you going with this?
It just reminded me when I saw you and Randall butting heads. We are quick to fight each other but not so much the real problem: those who run this shitshow. It is also an example how governments can squeeze people.

Here is a reminder what every government know and have known for at least 2000 years.
1. It becomes known to Carthage that Rome is planning a final, punative war. Even the term itself derives from the Puni.
2. The Carthaginian Senate sends envoys to negotiate.
"Sorry bruh, legions are already on their way."
"What can we do? Perhaps if we surrender meekly they will treat us fairly."
"Yeah, let's do that!"
3. Rome says, "Sure, if you give up your weapons we will grant you your laws and your land."
"Hmm, that doesn't sound so bad. I guess we better comply."
4. Carthage complies.
5. Then Rome says, "By the way, we will raze the city to the ground and we will sell the people into slavery. The land and the laws you can keep."
So they have a pretty good idea how far they can push a population until they stop fighting each other and go for the incompetent leaders instead.
Then followed a scene of indescribable fury and madness such as the Maenads are said to enact in the Bacchic mysteries. Some fell upon those senators who had advised giving the hostages and tore them in pieces, considering them the ones who had led them into the trap. Others treated in a similar way those who had favored giving up the arms. Some stoned the ambassadors for bringing the bad news and others dragged them through the city.

It’s funny, up until CD came along, there was little to no GN’R songs I didn’t like in their discography, outside of maybe My World.
So all the more interesting to see people listing some songs they dislike, I’d even go as far as saying are even favourites of mine.
Only songs I can probably say I don’t like, are:
Scraped - Absolutely the worst song, I can’t stand it really.
Anything Goes - Though I don’t completely hate it, I just think it’s out of place on an album full of bangers.
Absurd - I want so much to like this song, the first new Axl/Slash original in 30 years, but I’m just not digging it.
My World - though I think still I like it more than Absurd…!
Hah I love Scraped. One of the best songs on CD. Just a good riff and a mouth watering solo.
I agree it is interesting. Most of these lists have one or two songs I would rank very high personally.
