I agree neemo. It was life and death on the streets, going from nothing to stardom together...they can have differences over stuff...but they'll surely always feel those links.

I think songs like Catcher - that Axl has apparently abandoned...and SR..show that Axl probably has a few surprises up his sleave....but that said...I think we've hearded the demo versions of a large chunk of the album...and that's really only our own fault when it comes down to it. But to be honest...as cool as totally new songs like SR are...i'd be diapointed if the album didn't contain like finished versions of the leaks i've come to love. So i'm hoping for a mix...all of the leaks..hopefully 2-3 other songs I don't know and maybe something fun like a cool cover track or something.

Just picked it up at my local store...going to take it for a test drive now!

I don't really find these credits unusual. I think it's just the cult of personality people who want to believe Axl is the sole force behind everything in GNR.

I mean he (usually) writes the lyrics, the melodies, and the keys, and maybe the odd other part, but its clear both from the credits of the old songs, and a more basic aural analysis of them (eg Guitar styles etc) that Izzy, Slash and Duff wrote a ton of the material. Then theres the people like West Arkeen who wern't in the band but contributed material.

Obviously these days Axl has final say about everythin GNR, who is in the band, what is on the album, how things are done, but that doesn't mean he writes all of these songsm, or works on them alone, his style has always been to bounce off and improve other musicians works as well as his own.

YEah i'm hoping its just that smile Given it could be their last tour...i'm thinking maybe it ends in Australia with some fairwell shows or something. I think us local fans deserve something surely!

#8607 Re: Guns N' Roses » Do you believe CD will come out in 08? » 922 weeks ago

Nah...it will have been scheduled to be released the day after the black hole is formed knowing our luck sad

I'm not sure what i think of 2008. There are positive signs - the new management, the best-buy rumours, the Shackler's Revenge track, and there are negatives...Fink being gone, continued silence etc....overall i think i'm positive...it just feels like it's time to me...and that things are finally moving forward...i think the signs point to progress at the moment.

Of course...i'm not going to get too excited..as the pieces have seemed to be in place before without a result...but thats the problem with us being on the outside...we can't really ever tell exactly whats happening or why.

One day it will *have* to come out right? I mean it wouldn't surprise me if nothing happened as in 06 and 07 and so on...but i mean...sooner or latter...business issues will get fixed and it will actually happen....surely...i mean we know the songs exist...

ps....they need to drop this crap.....it's over. End of discussion. Either go back for a proper Gnr reunion or do something else.

Not to turn this into a VR vs GNR thing, but you could easily say that about GNR too, I mean bucket is gone, Robin is now gone...and yet most of us are still keen to hear what Axl will do with another lineup.

Slash and Duff and Matt have good chemestry....sure i'd love to see them play with Axl again...but I'll take them experimenting with other singers over going back to endless shortlived solo efforts.
