20% is a lot though - considering its only 1 track on the album

this is a bit of a shock
i bet slash and duff were like "fuck it...pay the guy and move on"
but in interviews these guys always talked about writing stuff and if it sounded anythign like soemthing else they scrapped it
Yeah although I think they said they were always like "dump it" and scott was always like "go for it". Although maybe that's just me blaming scott. I'd say its a case of "there's only so many obvious chords on guitar" mixed maybe with "unconcious influence" where you accidently rip off something without meaning to..cos you heard it in an elevator like 10 years earlier while drinking or soemthing

I was actually surprised GNR didn't make an anti-fink statement to sway the hardcore loyals against NIN. I would have expected some kind of statment like he made post buckethead at least. From what we've seen before I would be surprised if Axl was 'ok' with him leaving to go to NIN. I assumed that because we never got it axl was either deeply hurt of hoping to sway him back at some stage.
Going into more broad reasons for the delay would keep people like me happy. Like we missed the tentative date by 18 months or something and yet there is no new date or update as to what causes the problem. Would have been nice is all.

he has never done anything similar to those solos or riffs. could you provide a source for this supposed "slash would do an industrial record with GNR"? i doubt that, because it seems like utter BS.
Slash himself has explained that he would do an industrial record and that he did NOT leave GNR over the industrial record but rather over Axl's behaviour.
He says the reasons he left were:
1. Constant Disrespect for all involved by going on late for no good reason night after night
2. Legal manipulation that axl forced on us, from demanding ownership of the name to downgrading us contractually to hired hands
3. Loosing Izzy and Steven who were such an integral part of the band's sound and personality - without them the band no longer had its original chemestry
my departure has nothing to do with artistic differences, as many people claim to know. It was not as simple as 'Axl wanted Synths and Slash was old-school' It had nothing to do with axl wanting to go digital and Slash staying analog. To think that disolving the kind of band and the kind of chemestry we had over something so trivial is just insane. It's true I am old school, and I do like keeping it simple - but i've never been closed minded. If anything I was more than felxiable and willing to try any kind of recording technique or explore any new sound so long as I was doing so on an equal playing field with musicians that worked together toward a common goal. I would have hung in there with Axl through an industrial record or whatever else he wanted to try if the creative vibe between us was positive. My flexibility is the only thing that kept me in the band as long as it did - that's how a team works. Unfortunately we stoped being a team somewhere along the way

Sounds like she's just spent her money funding her own albums

The various versions of it are still there. At least that's what I'm seeing.
Ok..maybe it's something to so with me being international.

When I try and add that item to a cart it tells me it's no longer being sold by amazon
I can order it local - i just figured $10 from amazon was better than the $30 AUD that my local chain will expect for it!

yeah "switching" tracks would really suck for everyone involved. No offence to americans as I love loads of things about the country but there's times when the cultuere is strange to me. Like wallmart can't sell an album cos theres a couple of swearwords on it? But you can purchase handguns in stores on the streets. Strange to me. Meanwhile the chain that is so value based in relation to swearing basicly pays it's employees nothing and also puts out smaller busineses into the grave with shonky business practises. Odd.
Likewise here in Australia...you cut out someone's eyes on a movie and it gets like an M rating (15 years old - recomended but not enforced), yet if a girl takes her pants off all of a sudden the movie becomes 18+ and enforced. So violence is ok but nudity is scary! My own country is very wierd too.
wow...i'm so far off topic its insane. Suffice to say...I hope we get CD as it was intended and not modified to suit some corporate bullshit.
