Why would Jim Bob go, he hates Slash, or $la$h, as he refers to him...

I think alot of Jim Bob's hate of Slash was a misguided way of expressing his love of Robin. Not picking on JB but I wish people wouldn't make GNR into a war between factions. I like Axl. I like Slash. It's ok to like both!!

I can see why a person would look at Robin's stage presnece and his style and become a fan of him. I can also see why people like me prefered a more traditional version of the solos. I'm in awe of bucket's skills. Its clear to me that BBF is also an incredible guitarist, and Slash wrote some of the best songs ever. Its fine to have prefrences but I don't think that because you like one the best it means the other has to suck and so on. It's not that simple.

Anyway..back OT...i wish i was in vegas to go to this!

I only know a few songs...but those I know are great...like Slaves and Bulldozers, Outshined, Rusty Cage...
I really loved those and then to a lesser extent liked the other songs I heard on the radio like Spoonman and Black Hole Sun

is the rest of their stuff vocally badass like those?

The only thing I find annoying is when people are like, "Why don't you play real guitar" or something like that.

I have said that 16 But only to people who are already guitarists...like the bassist in my band was like "hey after band practice come over to my joint and we can play SCOM on Guitar Hero" and I didn't quite get why we didn't just play it with our own instruments 20 mins earlier wink

But it does drive me nuts when I talk about guitar, then meet a person who says "I can play Hangar 18" and it turns out we're talking about xbox not instruments!

Has anyone else noticed Slash has returned to Form recently? Like he started playing more solos again in VR gigs around 2007, and his new song with Alice Kicked extreme ass, and now this...oh and the SCOM and Its So Easy solos were badass recently....

#8896 Re: Guns N' Roses » Your opinion on this remark from another poster at another forum » 929 weeks ago

I don't agree with the bashing of the new songs as i've found a lot of them to be catchy as hell. I think songwise a few of them are really great songs. Maybe not as good as the best of the old stuff, but as good as the weaker tracks for sure and better than some.

But underneath the vitrol and agression I think Locomotive98 has some pretty valid points that I'd agree with. For me it comes down to what i've always said. If they want to play AFD and clasic GNR do it with the fucking outfit that made the records. If they want to go on about a new era and new styles and stuff...do it!! Do a CD tour that plays the CD tracks, release an album, and be a band on your own two feet.

I like BBF and co. But i want to see them do modern GNR songs not classics. I wanna see Slash do classics...

Anyway back OT....i think the OP was maybe just saying that this could turn into End of Days and "Oh My God" all over again...and I feel its a chance.

On one hand the fact this song comes from bucket could make it have one of the most killer and impressive solos and generally own eveyrhting around us and rip me a new fucking asshole. Then again...for every song of his i've heard like that he records 3 songs that are just wierd ass video game licks with killswitch applied...so it could be that with a few dischords from robin then a ton of synth and random disjointed axl stuff. Could easily turn into silkworms just as easy as it could turn into you could be mine!

Anyway for the record...I love most of Axl's new work...and like about 50% of the stuff bucket does...so so i think it could be totally awesome...but I don't think its imposible that it might turn out to be not our favourite track too.

Ridiculous on so many levels.

19 tracks over three releases? Really?

Yep...10 on CD1, then 9 on CD2, then a studio CD of fink covering AFD wink 16 13

I'm not saying they should be fined but I feel they should have the book thrown at them for the bullshit of claiming its a wardrobe malfunction - like how stupid are we suposed to me. it was the most obvious intentional thing i've ever seen.

I think Slash's work on 5 O'Clock is better than his work on AFD. More skillful anyways. But what's around him is different (although you can't really complain about Mike Inez and Eric Dover). I wish that line-up had gotten back together instead of the terrible Rod Jackson era. ALG is unlistenable, even if some solos are pretty sweet. I just can't take "Do you like the way I murder your heart?" anymore... and VR everyone took their game down a couple notches. None of the members, save Kushner, played as well as they had up to that point.

I'm going to go put on Neither Can I and dream about that album with Axl's vocals...

While I do like a couple of tracks from ALG....IFOC was simply amazing guitar wise..and I agree its a lot more technical than AFD. I also dream of Axl on that album!!!

My big wish is that VR starts making music of that kind...the demos were closer to that than what we got with scott....and let it roll was in the right direction...I just hope he one days pulls out another album of bad ass IFOC style riffing and soloing...

The reunion is going to be so bad ass when it happens.:mosh::slash:

9 Man this is what I love about this site...everyone is so open minded to stuff.

Like you are a huge buckethead fan, yet you can still say you dig it when you hear Slash rockout a classic GNR track without feeling its a conflict of interest.

I'm just the same way...like I love Slash..especially in GNR..but I hear Bucket on leaks and I know a damn cool song when I hear it....and it doesn't mean I don't like slash.

I think a reunion with either Slash or Bucket will be insane. With bucket and an all CD era tracklist would rule...or with Slash and going back to UYI songs and really being into it and soloing loads and stuff would be amazing too.

Long live this site where we can say this kind of thing without getting banned!
