I tend to think it sounds more like Roth solo than VH, especially the style of song. It is catchy though and I have been listening all day.

DAMN, I wish I had actually typed that. I deleted the exact same sentiment. Sounds a LOT like later Roth stuff.

Hate to say it, because it's the obvious gripe, but the Van Halen sound is incomplete without Anthony singing. I like the song though- it makes for the prospect of a promising album. It sounds like modern VH in a good way.

That 30+ minutes is what you edit down too, though. If he hadn't backed off and turned into Chris Farley at times ("remember that...? that was AWESOME!"), he would have deeper stuff for the show.

And I don't think this is a case where it was pretty standard for TMS viewers. The show is completely built around bands like GNR, and it seems to me the whole point of the show is to cater to nerds of all those genres that combine to form hard rock and heavy metal (to a point- they obviously and purposely don't delve into the deeper subgenres of metal.)

Meant to add: I'm also happy for you that that's not your picture either. big_smile

Thank you DCK, I thought I was the only one who was noticing that. It's clearly a frightened kid drawing that.

That is probably my favorite version of my favorite song by the King.  Happy Birthday man- I'd give anything to have you and Lennon still kicking around.

Could SOMEBODY please reassure me that the picture Riad posted is NOT Katy Perry please? My balls just became very disturbed ovaries.

Dave Grohl is the current bearer of the rock n roll torch. He's the "last" true rock god. I'm pretty sure that to get him to play drums for you, you first need to beat him at every other instrument, after which he will concede. Lose, and he will take over your band and play whatever the fuck he wants. Look for Pearcy on backing vox and DeMartini on maracas in the newly reformed Ratt, featuring Grohl on everything else. smile
