Oh my god. That match will go down in infamy.
So the countdown for the 30th entree begins, which everyone assumes is Bryan and thus loud chants break out. (They'd been chanting for Bryan all night especially during Cena/Orton). Clock reaches zero and Mysterio comes out... lol. The final 10 minutes had the most unified crowd reaction I've seen since Money In the Bank 2011. The crowd shit on it, they boo very loudly and chant no and Bryan non stop. They were pissed, then comes Batista's win. The pop was like Austin winning the title in attitude era, only with massive boos instead of a cheer. Batista then stood in the ring awkwardly trying to pretend they were cheering him. Just to stress for those that didn't watch, this wasn't typical WWE crowd with John Cena, this was a complete middle finger from the crowd to wwe.
That was an epic fail on WWE's part. They completely rejected the crowd. Not just tonight, this is culmination of months worth of nonsense. Bryan btw had the match of the night in the opening segment, where he lost clean to Bray Wyatt who just moved unto John Cena.
Yeah, that was funny when they just started booing Mysterio. I wonder if WWE could have pulled a last second switch to have Reigns win it instead of Batista. He had the crowd support and really did more of the work than Batista. They also wasted CM Punk's long Rumble appearance tonight.
The crowd also booed heavily during the Orton-Cena match and at one point started chanting "We Want Divas"! This is the second time in a year where a live crowd has basically shit over a Randy Orton match. Maybe WWE should just stop putting the World Title on him as the ratings nosedive whenever he is champion. Only hope here is that the Batista-Orton match gets dumped in the middle of the Wrestlemania XXX Card and doesn't close out the show as the main event.
Only positive things I saw from the Royal Rumble:
Rusev's debut
Roman Reigns performance in the Rumble Match
Bray Wyatt-Daniel Bryan match
Kofi Kingston move/jump into the ring
Kevin Nash suprise entry (this didn't bother me)

I'm really curious as to what other people thought about the end of this show.
Just watched a review http://www.nytimes.com/video/arts/telev … c_ev=click
Kind of makes it mean more as ending from that perspective, but the reality is, it was a poor last season. Just frustating to invest so many years in a show and watch it get that mundane.
I thought the ending was poor and it mirrored the final season. It wasn't the worst episode of the season since there were some awful episodes prior to the finale. I just find the character changes from episode to episode frustrating. In the second to last episode, he didn't kill the brain surgeon (who was played by a really shitty actor,by the way) because he found love. Now in the final episode, he leaves his child and the woman he loves (allegedly) because...um I don't really remember why he left then. Since I'm on that topic, the plotline to give him a son with Rita wasn't a neccesary one in retrospect. He rarely watched Harrison and really Harrison was more of a hinderance to him.
In Dexter's world, actions have no consequences. These writers really didn't follow up on many of the major plotlines of the past seasons. Renenber, Frank Lundy's death in S4? Barely mentioned after that.
They misused Captain Matthews in the last year. Gave him a spot on the main cast and proceded to give him very little to do. He could have at least given a few good one liners per episode.

I didn't realize that the PPV was on yesterday. It's hard for me to care when they headline a PPV with two guys who have been shoved down the fan's throats for years.

Silently praying that the Bears can sneak into the playoffs....
Tonight's game is huge. I don't like how the Bears are approaching the QB situation. Pick one and go with him. Bears are not the team they used to be but I can assure you that the Seahawks or Saints do NOT want to play them in the playoffs. Bears D a shell of its former self but they are capable of winning shootouts which means they can beat the two best teams in the NFC. If the Bears play the Niners at home in the 1st round, there's a win. Go into NO and win a shootout there, all that's in the way of the SB is Seattle.
I think both conferences will see major upsets in the playoffs. Bears or Lions will spoil the NFC picture and I'm not really sure about the AFC. Dolphins aren't all that great but be careful if they sneak in.
They should have just stuck with McCown who was playing lights out and at a Pro Bowl level. I'm not sure about their playoff prospects though. That Bears run D is BAD with all of the injuries and the pass rush hasn't been good this year. I'm trying to figure out the Niners myself. Kapernick has looked bad against good teams and is nowhere near as good as last year. That D is still good though. I can't really trust the Lions because they do a lot of stupid things and commit penalties like crazy. I'm more bullish on the Packers though and think they could make a run if they get in and Rodgers is healed. The NFC East winner will probably be one and done in the playoffs as neither of those two teams (Cowboys and Eagles) can play defense well.
The AFC is just plain bad this year. I think the Ravens and maybe the Chargers are the best chance for a #6 seed to go far in the playoffs. I'd like to believe in Cincy but they seem to struggle vs good teams. The Colts have struggled the past two months and that is only masked by the fact that they play in the worst division in the NFL. Manning will choke in January as usual. And the Pats without Gronk are very vulnerable as evidenced by yesterday's defeat. I'm actually rooting for KC in the AFC .
As for my favorite team the Titans, I'm just rooting for them to lose the last two games so they can fire Munchak and start over again. They need a QB bad. The closest thing to winning football I'll see from this club is that retrospective of the 1993 Oilers that aired the other day on the NFL Network.

Trance (2013) Another disappointing Danny Boyle film. I've gotten to the point where I'm wondering why the hell I even bother with this guy anymore. An interesting topic (or genre, heist in this case) drew me in. The first half is at least interesting but the last third of this film just fell apart. Also, I thought Rosario Dawson was miscast in this film. 5/10

I don't think this show has any sense of direction, it's obviously made up as they go along. If this show had ended in Season 5, they'd always have Season 1/2/4. Now they have a show were more than half season's were pointless.
I just cringed throughout the entire last episode at how ridiculous the main character is now. He's worse than being irredeemable now as a character, he's stupid.
It has no direction. I'm starting to think that this is worse than Season 6. At least that season had a nice Mos Def performance and the end of S6. Words can't describe how shitty Season 8 is.
You have a gazillion pointless plots with secondary characters that don't really matter or are interesting. Does anymore really care about Jaime? Whatever hapened to Batista investigating LaGuerta's death? Oh and the Zak storyline was painful since we've seen it before and really the actor playing Zak was awful.
The dialogue in these past episodes was awful. This show has turned into a soap opera with none of those redeeming qualities. Oh and also there were some gigantic plot holes as well.
The only reasons I'm watching are a)I want to see how it ends. B)it does a really good job of putting me to sleep after I watch it.

The "scheme" of Waltz character was pretty cool, the first time. When they go through the exact same diatribe 5 minutes later the punch is all but gone. Something happened to him during Kill Bill (which were good films). Now his trademark "coolness" feels very tacked on. Almost every minute you have a character saying something in a very stilted, artificial way.
Yeah, I feel the same way about the modern Tarentino films. I think they're still watchable but I have no desire to rewatch them a second or third time. I think part of it is pacing. I find portions of the film interesting while the other parts just sit there and kill the flow for me. Pulp Fiction is 154 minutes long yet it flies by when I'm watching it. The last few films have been a damn chore to get through.
He's moved away from the crime genre which has hurt him. It's nice that he's trying to branch out but at this point it seems like he's recycled the revenge film to death (Kill Bill films, Inglorious Basterds, Django Unchained).

"10. Stalker (Tarkovsky 1979)"
Never watched it. I assume I should download it. Speaking of downloaded films, I downloaded Downfall a few days ago, a film about Hitler's last days. Any of you guys watch it?
The Thing is definitely a masterpiece but I don't think I could place it top 10. Top 10 horror? Sure.
It's a great movie. Ironic that the most unbiased WW2 film was made by germans. Hollywood has a lot to learn from it.
You should definitely watch Stalker, but be prepared for a very different movie experience. Especially the first 30-40 minutes are slow.
I've seen Nostahlgia (1983) and came away kinda confused and bored. Is this film or Solaris any better? Donwfall is one of those films that I always want to watch but always put off for whatever reason.

It's getting ugly for Hernandez. There are rumors that an arrest is likely. I hate to be asking this but assuming Gronkowski misses some time and Hernandez is unavailable, which Pats WR or TE is the best to target for FF? Amendola or someone else?
misterid, I don't that is the case at all with Tebow. I think Rex saw him in practice and just realized what a bad qb Tebow is and would just rather tide it out with Sanchez and whichever jobber was on the depth chard. None of this absolves Ryan from being a shitty player evaluator though with the Tebow trade and the large Sanchez extension from last year.

Maybe he was going there to check out the antiques/ rareities. But the cane bothers me. Probably because I assume he is still in good physical shape.
