I remember watching TRL and hearing Carson Daly say that Hybrid Theory was stuck in his CD player. Too right.

Same, Hybrid Theory and Blink 182's first album were my first rock records.
Sad news, he had 6 kids as well.

Sad to hear. I was just talking the other day with someone about how more 70s and 80s bands are still around than bands from the 90s. (Linkin Park's first record was out in 2000)
I've been thinking about that too. Mostly after Cornell, in that, all the celeb and rock star deaths the last 20+ years all go back to either heroin or pharma. All the cocaine in the 70s and 80s, actors & metal bands likely hooked on it, yet no deaths?! Or very few.
Wierd, not saying its a safe drug by any means, but strange to think almost no one ODd from it. Although it mightve led to many celebs doing some effed up stuff, like OJ and Phil Spector etc
