(Can hardly call that 'just' though.:haha:)

If it's not that, I agree with the guy who said this doesn't exactly float my boat....:/

Slash returning to the band would be just about the only thing that could restore credibility to the name Guns N' Roses at this point, but even if the basis for this rumor is true (Axl and Slash staying at same hotel and interacting cordially), I'd say it's still quite a stretch to see Slash coming back into the band.  It'd be cool though ...

Its not really much of a stretch. He's a huge icon, and is still associated with GNR even though he hasn't been in the band for 12 years. Axl knows this as well, which is why he was used in several advertisements during the previous tours.

MANY people want this to happen, and have wanted it for years. If a reunion was announced tomorrow, the only news that would top it is if there happened to be a 9/11 type terrorist attack on the same day.

CD has been in limbo with different lineups for years, and face it....

If you cant release one album when you had two members of Praxis in your band for 4 solid years, something is wrong.

Instead of trying to figure out what is up with Finck, he is spotted at a hotel in NY where Slash also happens to be.

Another oddity is the Dr.Pepper thing where Slash and BH were mentioned, and Axl just happened to only mention BH.

Also, CD era members who used to always answer fan mail have been ignoring that fan mail for weeks.

When a bunch of coincidences start piling up, at some point it stops being a coincidence.

These ongoing "negotiations" should be for Axl and his revolving door of session players (most of whom have now bailed or are bailing) to release Chinese Democracy as a solo album. It would still prove his superior musicianship and what he brought to the table during Guns heyday. The songs we've heard are really phenomenal. Anyway, release it as a solo album and just bury the fucking hatchet already. We want it. They want it. C'mon. This is going to happen sooner or later and it looks to be sooner and sooner every week. You want to take some of the juggernaut cost of Chinese Democracy off your back, Axl? Just spit it out there and let it fly. Get back the original Guns N' Roses, record an album with Slash and co. and tour it. Your label would make so much money they'd be shitting green. No more bitching about the cost of CD.

Good point. With the state the industry is in, a reunited GNR releasing its first record in this p2p era would be a good test on what the real cap is going to be on high sales figures. In 2007, that ceiling was 3 million, which is a nightmare for the industry.

Guns might be able to top that.

That said, if they are at the same hotel together what did they do?  Rent a room and "make up?"  Crazy.

Never underestimate the healing power of make-up sex! big_smile

Agree with you there Von. Relaese CD as a solo album (because thats essentially what it is anyway), get the real GNR back together and kick some ass.

The world is fed up with a 'band' that cant release albums (if they even know Axl & Co still exist). A real GNR reunion/tour/album would be world news, pretty much Pink Floyd scale. Its just Axl's ego that is a stepping stone unfortunately.

Heres hoping it happens. Would love to see what they have to say on that 'other' site.

Really makes you wonder about the quality of the sessions when people are jumping ship who've been there 10 years and Axl is possibly talking to Slash.

Maybe Ezrin was right all along....

While I do love the CD tracks, maybe its the best they had and the project wasn't near as ambitious as we've been led to believe all these years.

From 1998-2008, the same damn tracks keep popping up, and Axl's three favorite songs in his vault are tracks we've already heard. If the sessions produced so much amazing material, why did a track such as The Blues need to be reworked three times? Hell, the title track has been reworked at least twice, and in that Classic Rock article a few months back, a third version was mentioned.

Merck said in 05 there were 20 tracks on the "A List" better than IRS.

Yeah. Sure.

Thats why they have to keep tinkering with the same few tracks, and play that song live even though its not on any so called A List. If there were 20 tracks better, it wouldn't be a candidate for the album. It would be the "Crash Diet" of the CD sessions.

I don't buy it anymore. The dog just doesn't hunt anymore.

No.

If Slash comes back, there's gonna be three people walking behind him.
