Re: More ridiculous, Guns N' Roses or Black Sabbath?

As a child of the late 80's early nineties, I remember reading and hearing about what a huge joke Sabbath had become due to huge and constant lineup turnover.

In my opinion, with the addition of DJ Ashba, we are now in Black Sabbath hell with the Guns.

Here's a list of All members of Black Sabbath through the years:

Ozzy Osbourne
Tony Iommi
Geezer Butler
Bill Ward
Vinny Appice
Bev Bevan
Jo Burt
Bob Daisley
Ronnie James Dio
Ian Gillan
Ray Gillen
Glenn Hughes
Tony Martin
Neil Murray
Geoff Nicholls
Cozy Powell
Bobby Rondinelli
Eric Singer
Dave Spitz
Dave Walker

And here's Guns:

Axl Rose
Dizzy Reed
Tommy Stinson
Chris Pitman
Richard Fortus
Ron "Bumblefoot" Thal
Frank Ferrer
DJ Ashba
Steven Adler
Izzy Stradlin
Gilby Clarke
Slash
Matt Sorum
Duff McKagan
Josh Freese
Paul Tobias
Buckethead
Bryan "Brain" Mantia
Robin Finck

Kind of a bummer watching the great ones do themselves wrong.

But currently in Black Sabbath hell the original lineup has reunited on numerous occasions and Black Sabbath's current iteration has changed it's name.

Didn't Axl say "Leave Me Alone" AKA "Soul Monster" on the next album was their most Sabbath moment...

So, I'm guessing your vote is that at the present time, Guns behavior is more ridiculous? sad

I'm leaning that way, too.

I also agree with Axl S.

At least Sabbath has reunited with Ozzy on several occasions, and has also reunited with their second most popular incarnation, with Dio.

Guns just keeps revolving, and not putting any new work out. When Guns gets "less ridiculous" is when they reunite with AFD band, and maybe even the UYI touring band. Then they'll at least be better than Sabbath's situation.

The thing with Sabbath was besides Ozzy and Dio, the rest were not the best front men.  They may have been good singers, but didn't have the stage presence of the prior two.

With Guns, it's always had Axl as the singer.  The only one in Sabbath who has stayed for every lineup I believe is Iommi.

Sabbath is on a level where it doesn't matter. Sabbath is still on the throne with the Heaven and Hell lineup right now. Ridiculous isn't a word I would use in the same sentence as Sabbath. The band survived the years with numerous members but Tony always knew the bread and butter was with the Ozzy line up and the Dio version.

Guns is a different story.
