Actually there's a great chance because the games are perfect, you can hardly fault them.

There's still plenty of games that are better though. They might be faultless for a 2D platformer from 1994 but it still doesn't make them the best imo.

I have to disagree with this. Mario 64 is still one of the best 3d games ever made to this day, hell theres only been a handfull of games since that have got as good a score as it. Not only did it introduce 3d proper for the first time but also nailed it first time. You can still play Mario 64 today and its still as fun and addictive as the day it came out.

Like someone said earlier in this thread Mario is in the top tier league for games and their is very few games that occupy that league, Vice city is not one of them.

Actually that is Mario 64's only weak point. Not enough Boss Battles, although to be fair Mario was never really about the Boss Battles, was about the incredibly good platforming! big_smile

Now if you want the series that wrote the book on boss battles you go to Zelda.

Axl S for the LAST TIME, Mario 64 will never be remembered.

Super Mario Bros. is THE legend of that franchise. Not Mario 64, not Super Mario 3, not Super Mario & Scooby-Doo meet Batman & Robin... roll
