I watched 3:10 to Yuma last night. Amazing western. Not as good as Unforgiven, but its close. If you like westerns, this is an absolute must see.

I also watched The Invasion. Just another remake of Invasion of the Body Snatchers. It was ok, but of course they wrap it up all nice and neat. The 70's remake with Donald Sutherland is the best version.

I watched Vacancy a long time ago. Yeah, they did a great job building it up but it wound up being a letdown.

It sure was.  I thought the movie was great until the end.  thumbdown.gif

Escape From L.A

I never enjoyed it as much as the original but Snake appeared to be more badass, also the political themes in it are quite relevant today.

I watched Employee of the Month. Shockingly, it wasn't that bad, although the star of the film(Jessica Simpson) is the only weak link. I'm not a big fan of comedies anymore, but there's some genuinely funny scenes in this. None of them involve Simpson. This chick has zero acting talent whatsoever. All she does is smile and says her lines in the same tone, no matter what emotion she is supposed to be conveying. Its annoying as hell. One pathetic scene is in the grocery store where her shopping cart bumps into the cart of the guy she likes. Its supposed to be accidental and happen by chance, yet she has this big smile on her face moments before the carts hit each other. The fact this wasn't left on the cutting room floor means either of these two things: Simpson flubbed this scene at every take so they had to use it, or the editors are to blame and dont deserve to ever be involved in the industry again. Its probably a combination of both, because even if she fucks this scene up all day, they could have had the camera aimed at the dude(or the shopping carts).

I now fully understand why her career in movies is evolving into B movies her dad finances. She cant act. Period. The film would have actually been better if they had just grabbed an attractive woman off the street to play her role. The film was a major bomb, so casting her was pointless anyways.

I'll give it a 2/5, but would have earned a 3 if they hadn't cast Simpson for the obvious reason of trying to earn a few extra bucks.

I've had Casino Royale laying on top of my TV since August... I cannot bring myself to want to watch it. Anyone else seen it? Can someone make a recommendation?

Watch it. It's nothing like the last few films that they made, with less gadgets and a much more realistic storyline. The action scenes are great, even if you weren't a Bond fan you could watch this and enjoy it as an action movie. Daniel Craig's a great Bond as well. It's one of the best Bond films ever made imo, I'd definitely recommend you give it a chance.

Dane Cook must have been good in this if you didn't rank on him..LOL.   He blew me away in Mr. Brooks as it was a serious role so this must have been great as comedy is his forte.

I watched Requiem for a Dream earlier. A pretty damn good movie about a group of druggies. I really liked Jennifer Connelly's character because just about every drug user has known at least one woman like that. Hard to believe this film was rated NC-17. That scene near the end with Jennifer was a bit racy, but not worth such a harsh rating.

I'll give it a 3/5.
