Nolan & Goyer named 4 graphic novels as his inspiration for his films "The Long Halloween" (Christian Bales Favourite), "Dark Victory", "The Killing Joke" (Watch Heath Ledger) & finally this crowd/critic/fan pleasing show.

Part III on the other hand though, "The Dark Knight: Strikes Back" where Batman fights 100ft aliens is kind of taking the piss.

I agree with strat, it sounds god awful, I'm glad it never got made. Even by superhero movie standards it sounds ridiculous. It may be a classic graphic novel, but I can't see anything but catastrophe if that got put on the big screen.
