I've got a fun idea to kick off discussion in our new James Bond 007 thread. Let's rank our favorites...by actor. Only official Eon productions need apply. I've got a post up top that will not only help in compiling these lists, but hopefully serve as a resource as I continue to update the thread with one sheets, trailers, and production info. Obviously, you don't need to rank Lazenby. I mean, you can if you want to. "On Her Majesty's Secret Service" poses some pretty stiff competition against itself. Here's what I've got:

REVISED 7-1-17

Connery
1) "Diamonds Are Forever"
2) "You Only Live Twice"
3) "Goldfinger"
4) "From Russia with Love"
5) "Dr. No"
6) "Thunderball"

Lazenby
1) "On Her Majesty's Secret Service" tongue

Moore
1) "Live and Let Die"
2) "The Man with the Golden Gun"
3) "Moonraker"
4) "The Spy Who Loved Me"
5) "For Your Eyes Only"
6) "A View to a Kill"
7) "Octopussy"

Dalton
1) "Licence to Kill"
2) "The Living Daylights"

Brosnan
1) "GoldenEye"
2) "Tomorrow Never Dies"
3) "The World Is Not Enough"
4) "Die Another Day"

Craig
1) "Casino Royale"
2) "Skyfall"
3) "Spectre"
4) "Quantum of Solace"

Chris Nolan has said he's a huge fan of the Bond movies and you can actually see their influence in his Batman movies. I think they should give him a chance to do a Bond movie at some point, maybe 10-15 years from now.

I agree. You can definately see the influence in Batman Begins, whereas The Dark Knight is a more obvious homage to Michael Mann's Heat. I was intrigued by those Danny Boyle rumors a few days back, but it never amounted to anything. Funny that the first flick of his I'm uninterested in seeing is the one to win all the awards. Old school Danny Boyle would rock the shit out of a Bond movie.

Slumdog is a good movie. You should see it if you haven't yet. Now, if we are talking about popular slum movies, City of God anal rapes Slumdog in every way. CoG is one of the best movies ever made and quite possibly the best of the 2000's.

Thanks for starting this thread Von.  I have a bunch of Bond films Dl and haven't had a chance to watch all of them.  I've watched some of the films and I can say right now I have a major disagreement with you on one of your rankings.

Isn't it pretty much a unanimous consensus that Casino Royale blows Quantum of Solace out of the water in terms of story, acting, character development and action sequences?  That one should be a no brainer.

Are you kidding Von, Goldfinger is your least favourite Connery (Bond) film? I think it's his best or one of his best.

Good to see some For Your Eyes Only appreciation, very underrated film imo.

slashsfro, I did put "Casino Royale" above "Quantum of Solace."

A Private Eye, it's funny, I've been a lifelong Bond fan and just never got the hype about that movie. It's fun, but I had to give props to "Dr. No" for being the first. "For Your Eyes Only" is badass.

I want to start seeing some favorites lists!

I'm not going for what was original or what other people enjoyed... In my view:

A View To A Kill
On Her Majesty's Secret Service
GoldenEye
Licence to Kill
Diamonds Are Forever
The Spy Who Loved Me
The Living Daylights
Live and Let Die
You Only Live Twice
For Your Eyes Only
The World Is Not Enough
Octopussy
Goldfinger
Moonraker
Thunderball
From Russia with Love
The Man With the Golden Gun
Tomorrow Never Dies
Thunderball
Die Another Day
Dr. No

I like all of them, but I haven't included either "Casino Royal" or "Quantum Of Solace" because their two films.. from a different version of the series.

I thought I'd posted my list already hmm Tend to watch a Bond movie once at month a least, favourites in no particular order are:

Diamonds Are Forever
From Russia with Love
Goldfinger
Live and Let Die
The Man with the Golden Gun
Octopussy
The Spy Who Loved Me
Licence to Kill
The Living Daylights
GoldenEye

'...Golden Gun' and 'Live & Let Die' are probably my favourites, Goldeneye is high on the list too though I haven't watched it in a few years. Every Bond movie post-Goldeneye I haven't enjoyed (still to watch Q.o.Solace).

For years I've considered myself a Connery-era fan but looking at the list I actually prefer more of Roger Moores movies.
