someone obviously doesnt remember that Slither and FTP were both #1 hits

rock and roll all nite was released as a single 3 times

in 1975 the album cut went to number 68
then in the same year the Livecut made it to 12
in 1996 the unplugged version made it to 13

its just not as good of a track, even though some peopel think it is

as for the buckethead track....personally i'm not a fan of that particular track, it kinda just goes in circles and never brings you anywhere...i agree with bigbri, if it was a different track then maybe i might be a closer poll...but hey its not over yet...i personally think slither is kickass

Those were No. 1 rock hits for VR. Rock and Roll All Nite charted on the Top 100, if I remember this right, for all songs, not just rock.

According to wikipedia, the studio version of Rock And Roll All Nite reached #57 on the top 100.  The live version of the song reached #12, Slither hit #56, and Fall To Pieces reahed #67

I wouldn't have picked Whitewash for Bucket. It'll be creamed by Slash and  VR, mainly because so many on this site cream for ANYTHING Slash does. Nothing wrong with that, but Slither is not that great of a song. And the riff is average, at best. I think the riff in Set Me Free is much cooler.

Fall to Pieces to me is one of those "half cool" kinda songs...the types of riffs are in the same style as some classic slash stuff that is cool...reminds me of some of the GRR-Lies type stuff...but it also sort of goes no where in the end - Scotts vocals are WAY repedative in general but it's really obvious on this track, and I dunno it's the kind of song I enjoy now and then or live but dont want to hear all that often on my home system. I'd have loved to hear it with some different vocal melodies...like an Axl approach to it.

Slither is a different story...great riff....not a big fan of that intro pre the riff kicking in...but once that riff hits it's a good fun song, and it's got a cool solo. Good song to me.

I tend to like bucket's more shreddy stuff...so whitewash wasn't so much my taste....now something like Soothsayer or Notthinham lace...now those are songs I'd have trouble voting much over!

I'd like to thank Neemo for doing this kind of thing.

I think it's awesome and really fun.

so now we are 3/4 of the way through rnd 1 and it looks as though capping it at 2 songs per band was abit pointless 16

AC/DC - Back In Black
Aerosmith - Walk This Way
Alice in Chains - Man In The Box
Guns N' Roses - Estranged
Guns N' Roses - Welcome To The Jungle
Led Zeppelin - Stairway To Heaven
Lynyrd Skynyrd - Free Bird
Metallica - Enter Sandman
Metallica - One
Michael Jackson - Billie Jean
Mötley Crüe - Dr. Feelgood
Mötley Crüe - Home Sweet Home
Nine Inch Nails - Head Like a Hole
Nine Inch Nails - Hurt
Ozzy Osbourne - Crazy Train
Pearl Jam - Alive
Pink Floyd - Wish You Were Here
Queen - Bohemian Rhapsody
Red Hot Chili Peppers - Under The Bridge
Soundgarden - Fell On Black Days
Stone Temple Pilots - Interstate Love Song
The Jimi Hendrix Experience - Purple Haze
Velvet Revolver - Fall To Pieces
Velvet Revolver - Slither

GnR, Metallica, Motley Crue, NIN and VR all have 2 songs moving forward and there is the opportunity for even more bands to have 2 songs in the second round

Not to be an asshole, but I can't even believe your challenging me.

Seriously? So Rock and Roll All Nite is a worse, and less popular song than FALL TO FUCKING PIECES.

Do you VR fans even pay attention to what you write/speak?

P.S.
I'm not mad, this just something that has me banging my head against the wall.
