Download Festival tried hard but, allegedly, could not afford GN'R in 2017

Rock AM Ring, Rock IM Park, Germany - 2nd-4th June
Pinkpop, Netherlands ?? - 5th-7th June
Graspop, Belgium ?? - 16th-18th June
TW Classic, Rock Werchter, Belgium ?? - 24th June

From vk.com/gnr2017

Vienna, Austria - Probably Ernst Happel Stadium
Prague, Czech Republic

Parc Olympique, Lyon - July
Stade de France, Paris - July
San Siro, Milan - July
Croke Park, Dublin - July
Volsparkstadion, Hamburg - July
Amsterdam Arena, Amsterdam - July
Estadio Olimpic, Barcelona - July
Letzigrund Stadion, Zurich - July
Veltins Arena, Gelsenkirchen, Germany - July
Friends Arena, Stockholm - July
Telia Parken, Copenhagen - July
Olympiastadion, Berlin - July

Venues for July;

Stade de France - Paris
San Siro - Milan
Croke Park - Dublin
Volsparkstadion - Hamburg
Amsterdam Arena - Amsterdam
Estadio Olimpic - Barcelona
Letzigrund Stadion - Zurich
Veltins Arena - Gelsenkirchen, Germany
Friends Arena, Stockholm

Possible sequence for June

Rock AM Ring, Rock IM Park, Germany - 2nd-4th June
Pinkpop, Netherlands ?? - 5th-7th June
Download Festival, UK - 9th-11th June
Download Festival ??, France - 9th - 11th June
Aerodrome Festival, Czech Republic - 15th-17th June
Novarock, Austria - 15th-17th June
TW Classic, Rock Werchter, Belgium - 24th June
Rock in Rome, Italy - July

I cannot see GN'R playing Hellfest. I also think Novarock and Aerodrome must go together, same promoter. Novarock was moved, Pinkpop was moved.

Denmark (Roskilde?), Finland could follow Belgium. Spain and Portugal July (or Mad Cool between 17th and 24th). Switzerland could squeeze in early, or after Belgium

=======================================================================

All the dates so far from gathered gossip. I will expand on this as we go.

Rock AM Ring, Rock IM Park, Germany - 2nd-4th June (From promoter, via Paul Skinner, not confirmed)
Pinkpop, Netherlands - 5th-7th June (From promoter, via Paul Skinner, not confirmed)
Download Festival, UK - 9th-11th June (From promoter, via Paul Skinner, From band, via Metal Talk, implied through Andy Copping, various. supposedly confirmed, UK Exclusive gig)
Hellfest, France - 16th-18th June (From Promoter, via Paul Skinner, not confirmed)
Mad Cool Festival, Madrid, Spain - (A festival, from Promoter, via Paul Skinner. Press release from festival implying GN'R)
TW Classic, Werchter, Belgium - 24th June (from http://www.rockwerchter.com/)

Aerodrome Festival, Prague, Czech Republic - (Prague comes From Organisers, via Metalheads Travel)
NovaRock/Krieau Rocks, Vienna, Austria - (Vienna comes from Organisers, via Metalheads Travel, Ernst Happel Stadium alternative mentioned by Austrian press)
Rock in Roma,  Italy - (From promoter, via Paul skinner and Italian press, San Siro Milan, mentioned by Italian Press as well)

Portugal - (From Promoter, via Paul Skinner. From band via press article. Possibly a festival, or possibly one concert based on templates of similar bands)
Sweden - (From Promoter, via Paul Skinner, Possibly a one day Livenation "..Rocks" event or Sweden Rock)
Switzerland - (Playful email from Zurich Stadium. Possibly a one day Livenation "..Rocks" event)

Download was announced 22nd October last year. Announcement expected at start of S American tour (From promoter, via Paul Skinner)

Metallica added Poland, Finland, Denmark and Norway to their 2014 tour, which could be deemed similar. Denmark Livenation confirm no news there. Poland and Bulgaria could be deemed unlikely if Metalheads travel are arranging concert travel from Ukraine to Vienna and Prague although it could be to do with the 'Organisers' who deal mainly with Czech and Austria

Please do not contact any of the above sources otherwise we might lose them smile

Paul Skinner, on limited information, is thinking festivals more than solo open air gigs. The information from Metalheads travel is also implying festivals as that is what they tend to arrange travel to.

Metallica's 2014 tour was arranged by Livenation and was all festival type gigs. For that, we would have Krieau Rocks for Vienna, Aerodrome Festival for Prague, Rock Werchter (which seems to pop up alot) for Belguim, Rock in Rome for Italy and Gardet Royal Park for Sweden as well as others. The Vienna and Prague ones would fit in with Metalheads anyway.

The Sonisphere tour is promoted by John Jackson, a promoter GN'R know well. That could make up alot of the dates. A mystical return of the 2017 Sonisphere tour could speak volumes, so that is an angle to look at. Otherwise, we could be looking at a series of " .... Rocks" festival days from Livenation

Barracuda Music are the link between Prague and Vienna. They promote both the Aerodrome festival in Prague and Krieau Rocks in Vienna. They also do Nova Rocks, but that is 40 miles from Vienna.

Sounds good. Nothing on Ireland yet. Hopefully this is all wrong, and they'll just do some stadiums lol

I am just going with the flow just now, see where it leads.

Mad Cool Festival, Spain

Mad Cool press release. Reference to cycling pants, has to be Axl

Be Cool, Be Mad

Sonisphere has an increased amounts of concerts next year, confirmation from promoter. There are alot of big bands touring next Summer, but given K2's connection with GN'R, it is of interest

Let me just roll through Vienna again and also remind people not to book anything until the tour is confirmed. This is just a bit of fun.

Vienna, as a city, is strongly put forward here as a city GN'R are playing www.vk.com/gnr2017

The link takes you to the Ukranian festival travel website, Metalheads. They have been informed by the 'Organisers' of forthcoming GN'R concerts (probably festivals as they deal in festivals)in Prague and Vienna. The company that links these two is Barracuda Music.

Barracuda run Nova Rock, and the occasional fest, Krieau Rocks (which is not Rock in Vienna). Given it is GN'R, the latter makes more sense but it has not occurred since 2014. Nova Rock would be the second option, but it is 40 miles from Vienna. Rock in Vienna could happen, but does not make sense just now.
