So anyway, who's looking foward to the TAB book?  I certainly am.

I'll be devouring the TWAT solo.  There's some tricky bits towards the end that I can't figure out.

Seriously, why is this guy still here?

I'm wondering that myself.

Someone put robin67 out of his misery.

I think the guitar players here should have a go at re-doing the solo for this one.  I have no doubt that we, the fans, could elevate this song to epic status.

Can someone PM me the track minus the solo?

Why are you actually posting here? You sound like a Robin religious freak. I better add another category to my list of GNR fans. They just keep popping up.

Really dude..Finck was in the band for over 10 years...Buckethead was in there for about 4 (give or take).

How come it's Bucket who is shining on CD and not Robin?

listen BETTER

Give me 2000 takes in the studio and I'll come up with a better solo than that.  The fact that his studio work is passable has NOTHING to do with talent or ability.  If you play a solo 2000 times you're going to get it to sound good at least once.  Robin's live work is a true indicator of his 'talent' or lack thereof - and it ain't pretty.  You can hear him fumbling for notes in the TIL solo - it's messy.

Buckethead on the other hand would only need ONE take in the studio, same goes for Ron and possibly Ashba.

I certainly hope we'll get to see what Ashba can do with the Chinese Democracy material on stage, but I fear that day will never come.

That's because Robin is too robotic and used to saying "do you want fries with that, sir?"

ron's robotic. so was buckethead. robin's full of energy and charisma. something neither ron or bucket nor DJ have in studio or on stage

Energy and charisma does not count if you can not play the guitar properly.

Ron and Bucket are musicians, exceptional ones at that.  Robin was in the right place at the right time, it certainly was not his musical ability that got him the gig - I've heard farts that are more musical than Robin's "playing".

For the 'rock' genre I'd also check out 'decoding the tomb of bansheebot'.

Somehow I don't think he wants a major label James.  It would be cool though.

James Lofton - have you listened to Thanatopsis - Axiology?  If not, you're missing out man!

And bigbri - Big D is Bucket's wife.  See below;
