it is a good read. some errors (pitman most notably).
I think there is too much of a dismissal of the 2006-2007 time period. During this time-frame, Axl reasserted himself as an A-List celebrity. He was at all the swank parties with all the big names. His voice and stage presence were better than ever. His image was totally revamped. The idea that the entire Chinese Democracy saga was doomed from the start is not entirely true. The excitement during the 2006 time period was unmatched by any other year. Unfortunately, the author chose not to mention these things.
I'm not trying to come off as a total axlite here but sometimes you have to give credit where credit is due, and I think this is a case where it was ignored for the sake of the author's article.

i really really really like the song the more i listen to it. i think the general public does as well. its getting solid radio play.

i'd say slash is easily more recognizable, but i think the name "axl rose" is more famous. make any sense?

So the other day I was jammin to CD in my car and my brother asked me a question about what GNR were up to. I began to stumble and fumble over my words describing what the band was doing (rehearsals, ashba, rerelease?)
and then it came to me...
I never talk about this shit out loud. The only place I ever discuss my favorite band and music is on this message board.
Has anybody ever made a similar realization. Its almost weird to say out loud something like..."wow Mister Saint Laurent is gonna leak Atlas Shrugged after he trades the MOGG files! I wonder what Dexter, Beta, and Fernando think!"

people sit on the big boards and shit on slash with the hopes and dreams that they'll get a pm from Dexter saying they are the bestest fan in the whole wide world.
i love axl. i love cd. i would go as far to say that i favor axl. but objectively viewing some of axl's moves as foolish does not make anybody pro-slash. awful logic.

exactly. the problem is other boards feel that it is necessary to HATE slash in order to justify their love for axl. they discredit his work in gnr for christ sake.
they make no sense at all. they claim that slash's work on the albums THAT MADE THEM LOVE GNR is boring and predictable. ya. really fucking boring...so boring that it gets you to follow a band for 20 some odd years. gimme a break.

disagree. every track that was on cd was rumored to be on it for sometime with the one exception of scraped. other than that, we knew what songs were planned for the album before they ever leaked.

i actually think the chorus has nice hook to it and is pretty catchy. personally, i would like a guitar solo in the song, but its fine without it.
i really don't hear anybody on the song trying to sound like layne. i think people are only hearing this because of the harmonies.
