They're not going to just start this thing off, and just go out and perform and NO ONE is allowed to talk to the press, including Slash & Duff. Not unless there's future plans.
Not that I know of their plans, or lack thereof,
but recall the brouhaha that went off from Slash's soundbyte to Aftonbladet.
They all stonewalled and the social media sort of convinced itself of the matter.
They noticed that, you can bet on it.
Slash already tried fishing on 'tensions' on CBS in May.
Funny enough, DJ was still in the band at the time.
The rest of us were waiting for a Stay of Execution.
They wanted their thing to be brought out slowly.
Suddenly, it's public knowledge that Axl and Slash get along.
It needed to come from Slash, the media darling. The Good Son.
Axl was without a guitar player, anyway. Perfect sense.
So, next up, Coachella. They'll certainly get coverage.
It's a big pay-day for them, so the festival will promote it.
Those who opt out of Coachella get the digital version.
The new band is out in the social media in a heartbeat.
At that point, Rolling Stone comes begging for a buck and a dime.
Followed by several others.

Also, take it for what's it's worth (LMAO) he just said Mick Wall is the best rock writer.
Either he's off his rocker, or that just proves he was taking the piss throughout.

Dust N' Bones is great. The lyrics have that acerbic feel to them that reminds me of Dylan.
He lost his mind today / He left it out back on the highway...
That way Izzy binds abstracts with concrete things, makes me think of this.

I hate it when he refers to GNR as "Guns" and I cringe when Eddie Trunk says it too. That is an intimate word to me and I think only Slash, Axl, Duff can refer to the band as Guns.
That's your opinion and you're entitled to it.
Personally, I call this Guns and the Illusions or previous lineups old Guns.
Everybody else is taking their cue from Axl.
You sound a bit like Obama with your restrictions

Look at Izzy. Izzy fucked him over MULTIPLE times, and called him the worst of the worst, most of which Slash got blamed for. Unless Axl feels guilty for something in the past, Axl has continued to be loyal to Izzy.
Why?
Lafayette, IN.
Izzy was there when Axl was still Bill, always getting into trouble, never getting laid.
Those two went through a pretty wild trip, conquering the world from nowhere.
At the end of the day, Izzy's one of the few people who've been there all the way.
Izzy has a unique perspective on Axl, and vice versa. One comes to appreciate such things.
Why be loyal to the new band for so long, when numerous members had other engagements at times and could've been easily replaced.
He tried replacing Robin with Brian May and Buckethead.
That ended with bringing Robin back and reinstating his parts.
Slash would've gotten the same treatment had he played ball.
Only it went sour because Slash had enough of the Axl BS.
That's why Axl's negativity towards him ballooned over the years.
Del James has been there forever.
Judging by his literary output, I can understand why.
I don't think Beta is his only loyalty.
His Mum. The Mum who threatened to quit if there'd be any more managers.
But any time shit hits the fan, it's someone else.
Someone was out to get Axl, and he retaliates.
Look at the shit he hurled at Bucket in 2004. He lived to regret it.
He took Merck's word for it. A few years later, Merck got the same.
Bad hair days are a killer.

Band members of all these guys from GNR would know that talks were underway long ago.
Except the guys in Axl's band! 
Seriously, it does look like Axl had made his mind around Vegas '14.
It would be curious to know whether Ron's awkwardness was tied to that, somehow.

Except he charged Axl's management a huge appearance fee in 2006 and Axl was left in the dark so he could have fun without realizing Izzy was nailing him for big money.
He made an outrageous claim to Merck, who coughed up the dough because Axl wanted it to happen.
Izzy was just taking the piss on the aisles, again. Typical Guns, money spent every which way.

Izzy was not wanting to be contracted to appear, but will appear at some point during the year.
That's Izzy, alright.
Reckon he'll do it for the fun of it, rather than for money he can live without.
Big business obligations have never gone down too well with Mr Stradlin.
