Hope this is true since I can get a flight to Germany for about £20 once I get onto mainland UK big_smile

I am just having a poke about the internet just now to get a feel for the rumor, and the Ringrocker forum are quite strong on this. There are a couple of dubious looking festival posters on there, but also a couple of people who sound like they know what they are going on about. So I'd say it looks a strong possibility and fits in well with the Rock in Rio dates, which one would presume Guns would be a definite for if they are touring

Here's the rub

It appears that the guy who reformed Motley Crue (which could link in the Nikki Six comments) a few years back now works for AEG, and they are trying to push for some sort of GN'R reunion tour, and it is all currently a work in progress. I do not know how this pans out from the bands perspective, but it is interesting nonetheless.

Because I am a promoter, I know people who work at AEG so I am probably best positioned to get possible updates if there are any to give.

If you could, please refrain from contacting AEG just now and please keep any info to this forum.

One major promoter has tendered an interest in promoting a tour for a reformed GN'R, and are yet to receive a yay or nay. There are also two European festivals that are possibilities, one more likely than the other.

Stories reporting the story are based on people theorising what is happening rather than actual facts, or so it seems

I have not found anything to state there is an intention to reform as yet, and any activities could souly be based upon the hearsay of GN'R reforming i.e. promoters could be putting forward packages when there is nothing actually happening. It happens with ABBA all the time.

It seems I have been missing all the fun. I heard about all the reunion rumours on the radio haha

I'll check about to see if I can find out anything. If anyone has any leads, PM me

I'll post back next week. Busy with work just now smile

This has been proven to NOT be GNR. It's just a name coincidence. It's from a Uni database of scores available to be used.
I guess that on other forums they even have figured out the composers names.

Noone ever suggested it was by GN'R, it is about what the piece was created for. When you look at external musicians that have added to GN'R's songs, the Beltramis and the Buckmasters of the world, even Brian May, they all have one thing in common, they have all released music through Universal. Here we have a piece of orchestration called Atlas Shrugged owned by Universal. If you look at alot of the Darkens work, they are simply named, usually after the instrument(s) that are in the piece. Why call something Atlas Shrugged, it seems odd. Anyway, I have not heard anything from either Darken. I'll try again this week. It will probably amount to nothing, but hey ho, no harm asking.

That's a production music wing of Universal.
All the music we hear in adverts and TV programs is made by independent composers who publish their music through licensing platforms.
This is Universal's licensing platform.
The piece is definitely not GNR.

The piece is by Eric/Anne Darken

My interest is in, not who it is by, but what it was created for. Whether it was an advert etc..

So, the name of note on this piece is actually Eric Darken, who is a composer and percussionist who has recorded with alot of big names. The one question is, has he worked on any unreleased GN'R material

I will get someone to contact him, and I will report back later.

Cheers, you heard any more info about a release this year? If not, do you think 2015 is still a possibility?

It's all very quiet.

Might be something to do with Anne Darken who is a composer.

Ah well, got excited for a bit!

Definitiey sounded like something though listening to the track sad

I would be more interested in the origin on the track.

Did it start out as a stand alone track, or was it an accompaniment? It sounds more like an accompaniment to me, if not for another song, then maybe for a film or tv program.

If Anne Darken is the composer, if I get 5 minutes tomorrow, I'll try and track her down and ask her, just to be sure.

It's a bit of fun and intrigue if nothing else
