6. Bernard Herrmann - Psycho

Funny you mentioned him, there was a bridge by where I grew up where someone spray painted "Bernard Hermann Lives".  My friends & I always wondered (in the 80's, before wikipedia & all) who he was. We just figured he was some local teen from the 70's who passed away, later on I knew he was somebody famous, I always thought he was a writer though.

That was alot harder than I thought it would be. I'd probably need to revise this, but off the top of my head, the first ones to come out were (in no particular order):

Nirvana – Nevermind
Nirvana - Bleach
Pearl Jam – 10
Pearl Jam- Vs
Metallica – Black
Metallica – Justice
U2 – Achtung
U2 – Joshua Tree
Counting Crowes – August & Everything After
Soundgarden – Superunknown
AIC – Dirt
Smashing Pumpkins – Siamese Dream
Silkworm – Libertine
Pavement – Crooked Rain
The Who – Who’s Next
John Cougar – American Fool
GnR – Appetite
GnR – UYI 2
Led Zep – 2
Led Zep - 4

I actually added John (Cougar) Mellencamp before reading the first page of this thread. While American Fool probably isn't his best or my favorite of his, it was the only one I bought, & brings back some memories of high school & good times for me. I always liked him, in hindsight, wish I bought all/more of his albums growing up.

*Its like I feel obligated to list that at number 1 all the time. Haven't heard it in years, so if I did, maybe it would drop*

Nahhhh dude, AFD is about as close to a perfect rock album as we'll ever see imho.

What a very weird thing to spray paint on a wall.

That was the genius of it. It was bizarre, and there forever, we got to calling it The Bernard Hermann Bridge.. I'll take a picture of it if it's still there. Was there from at least the early-mid 80's thru the 90's. Haven't driven there recently to look, although oddly enough I did go under in Monday but didn't look:(
