What I don't understand: if you just want to go around playing the old hits and have no intention on moving forward, why to keep a high profile band with the names of Tommy Stinson (no introductions needed), DJ Ashba (a billboard charter with his SIXX AM), Bumblefoot and so on? I mean, Richard was playing with the likes of Rihanna not too long ago...

Doesn't make sense... Should hire low profile, talented musicians and make more money out of it... It's not a band anyway.

a song which contradicts axlins idea of going back to 1989 (tho i know lies was a yr earlier).
y'don't make business decisions on the basis of music. if the music's good enough people will get it, rather than trying to get people by making music they want.

if you're treating it as a business you don't record & release OIAM.
that IS GnR. doing what you want in spite of the better judgement of others' wishes & fuck the consequences.
that's what he needs to get back to. instead of playing the suit & this bizness shit which so fascinates axlin & others. that shit is meaningless, OIAM is forever.

Axl doesn't have that band with him anymore. He was too pussy to keep them around.

So I still don't think you're point applies still. The cast of characters he has right now is BUILT for commercialism. Sorry, but it is what it is. I don't really like it all that much either, but i'd rather have SOME kind of GN'R, than none. I personally would prefer a GN'R with Axl Rose, Buckethead (no Robin or anyone else), Izzy Stradlin, Tommy Stinson, Frank Ferrer & Dizzy Reed releasing an album every two years, that's Praxis meets Nirvana meets Guns meets Stones meets Replacements. That's what music would be to me. But i'm not getting that.

Actually, you are not getting anything! 13

I''ll get nothing and like it.

Actually I don't.

I'm enjoying cranking the fuck out of that new Nirvana track, still soaking up Soundgarden's return, and looking forward to new AIC next week. I enjoyed new Cult earlier this year.

THAT is how I keep my sanity. Real music, by real artists, who keep the real bands alive and have real credibility. It stableizes me.

Look at that McCartney/Nirvana deal. They fucking SLAMMED IT OUT OF THE PARK at 12-12-12, and it sounded like the art of noise/noise of art that Nirvana was famous for. First time playing it live, and they owned it.

THAT is rock n' roll to me. Cornell letting Kim fuck around on guitar on Letterman, playing an off-track like Rowing on the internet... that is rock to me.

What happened to this band's credibility? What happened to Axl's?

He lost confidence with Izzy, Slash and Duff leaving.

He lost credibility with the neverending recording process.

He lost faith with the CD release and reception.

Well summarised!
