I don't understand the question.

Why would he work on songs from a released album? Are you referring to CD and Better?

Has he tinkered with the songs from the finished album after it's release?

Or has he finally cut bait?

Call it the George Lucas effect, Brian Wilson smiling at himself, what have you.

Here is a tie in sort of ...The Replacements just released a boxset of their album Don’t Tell A Soul...it’s called Dead Man’s Pop. They actually released the entire album with a different mix and different producer. The mixes on the boxset  were not used at the time as the record company wanted another producer to try and make the album more commercial. Sound familiar??? The record company stripped away the “soul” of the album. The Replacements wanted to put their version out.

Now, what if our boy decided to take the Beaven mixes or even some of Baker’s mixes and strip down the album back to their original versions. It would be killer.

Obviously, it would be for hardcore fans only but there’s enough of us out here to make it worth releasing....imo. axl

Yeah, I mean...killer for who? Maybe 5000 people? What’s the business for that?

A UYI box will do just as well as the AFD one. CD wouldn’t touch that.

The album is so heavily layered, a stripped version would be amazing

There a lot of bands out there who release tons of music and their entire fan base doesn’t even touch the number of Gnr or even Axl hardcores. Gnr is still a huge band on a worldwide scale

Axl should want it released just to show the depth of what actually went on in those sessions. axl

I agree, would love to hear it not so layered

Metallica does it all the time....limited edition box sets of their albums. They know that they're not going to sell millions of copies. It's not supposed to. It keeps the hardcores happy.

Chinese Democracy has always begged for such a release. The story behind it is so fascinating and it even had the general publics attention for a few years.

Unfortunately it's starting to slip through the cracks of time. Another decade of business as usual and it'll be like CD had never even happened.

He should just pull the trigger. One way or another, it's coming out. It'll be the first thing his estate releases after he dies. His body of work is so small that it's guaranteed to be first on the launch pad. Better to be involved in how it's released so there's a bit of quality control.

Price it around 150-200 bucks.... between 5-10k copies. It'll sell out. For casual fans have a 1 disc release....100k copies. It'll sell. After that, throw it on Spotify.

The final chapter of Chinese Democracy was rotting in dollar stores nationwide.

It deserves better.

Now that Slash and Duff are back with their fingers in the GN’R pie, I don’t think we’ll get anything more of the CD era unless, it’s with them playing on it
