Weird how the EU seems to be collectively pointing the finger at Russia.  I guess the US suddenly is able to influence Europe and get them to agree with our conspiracy.  Crazy we couldn't do that for Iraq, Afghanistan, Iran or Ukraine but now suddenly have that power.

That's a good point. When Bush wanted to attack Iraq, the French and Germans refused to support him because they had investments there. Now they are being overzealous in their support for the US line despite facing critical energy shortages. That's something which could erupt the country into chaos, yet they are staying the course.

Obviously there is a difference between cooking up a motive to invade a run of the mill dictator, and that of responding to a military attack by a large power close to home. But I think it also a sign how much things have changed. I wouldn't exactly call it US power either. It's that other power, the US is just their main vessel. That power has certainly grown. A country has no choice but to toe the line, else face isolation.

And how would the US know this? They looked at their own plans?

The US has the most advanced intelligence apparatus in the world. Nothing comes close.

We can listen to any phone call on the planet regardless of any measures these countries/leaders take...and that's 15-20 year old tech!

We probably have robotic spiders/cockroaches in the Kremlin listening to every word Putin says. How about that tech where we can listen through buildings from a satellite?

I remember around the time this conflict started, Biden was asked about the intelligence and he had that smirk...and held his tongue and then gave a generic response.

I believe US intelligence before I would believe anything else. Do they lie? Absolutely...but they're going to know what's really going on.

. Their relationship with the US can be summed up by an American President, telling their Chancellor to his face, in front of cameras, that if they don't shut down their pipeline, the US will

This isn't new. We've been doing this type of thing since Clinton...or go back to Reagan rubbing Gorbachev's nose in shit at that second summit.

Wasn't this type of ballsy maneuver an aspect of the Bush/PNAC doctrine? US as a hyper-power where both friend and foe have to toe our line and nobody tells us what we can or cannot do.

In Bidens state of the Union address, Biden said.....

Putin has no idea what's coming...

And they've been getting their clocks cleaned every which way but loose.

When the most powerful country shares intelligence and gives them weapons, what was supposed to be a cake walk quickly turns into a quagmire.

It's a minority opinion but I believe we already have troops there in a limited capacity.

Did you see those Ukrainian astronomers mentioning a bunch of UFOs there? That's not Ukraine flying those.

Russia began early throwing around nuclear threats like it was candy. Then they moved onto "we don't believe the West will retaliate if we drop", as if saying; not only will we drop nukes, but we think we can get away with it so we will definitely nuke if you provoke us just a little.

Then you have the slightly less retarded cousin in the Pentagon responding; We hear you Vlad, in fact we hear you so well that we might nuke you first, just in case. And this is a leak so we really mean it.

I'm glad I'm not scared of nuclear weapons, because all this rhetoric must be very traumatic for those who are. That's the only real purpose it serves. As a military strategy I find it pathetic.

The only worrying issue on the subject is Russia's belief in their "escalate to deescalate" doctrine. It hasn't been tested obviously....and shouldn't be.

I think it will blow up in their faces.

Other than that, I doubt a nuclear war is happening. Not a full scale apocalypse anyways.

One more thing....

I don't get the point of Ukraine trying to get into NATO right now. It's obviously not happening.

Biden once again said we'll defend every inch of NATO territory.

Be funny if aliens came out of hiding to stop ww3 happening.

But more like the usa has some toys it doesn't talk about.

Would make sense when you think about what the pentagon budget has been for our whole lives and the way everything else has got better.

What a quagmire.

Those clips of old men being drafted is straight from the Twilight Zone...or a different century.

Imagine getting drafted, you get a couple days training (if that), have to sleep on the floor with no pillows or blankets, and then get sent into the meat grinder without any equipment.

Any of them who survive will likely freeze to death this winter.

I can’t think of any. The US only “lost” territory in Vietnam when they turned it over to the South Vietnamese, much like what transpired in Afghanistan. Though much like Putin now, the US refused to go total war in Vietnam to decisively defeat the north.

Ukraine taking territory Russia officially considers its own is no bueno. The west claims that NATO infrastructure was sabotaged, and the saboteur was Russia. Yet they’ve done nothing. I’ll wager that even if direct, indisputable evidence of Russia’s involvement was found, they’d still do nothing. What message does that send to Putin? Why would he be deterred from going total war in certain regions to dissuade Ukraine from pushing further?

I don’t live in Ukraine so my information only comes from the corporate media. I know it’s biased towards the goals and ends of western oligarchs. But what do the people being occupied think?  Not some nitwit on TikTok or Twitter, but the average citizen?  Were the elections in the eastern region bogus? Do those people want to be part of Ukraine? My understanding is those in the east didn’t look on the revolution endorsed by western powers favorably.

We aren’t in a vacuum. History didn’t start on 9/11/2001, 11/09/89 or 9/01/39.  When the Soviet Empire collapsed, the deal was their former satellites could be independent, but not fall under the thumb of the US (NATO). With Sweden and Finland joining NATO, Ukraine is really the last buffer for Russia.

We can all sit here and celebrate elections we like and condemn those we don’t. We can call Putin evil and pat ourselves on the back that we have open air drug markets and rampant looting without consequence. But none of that shit matters. Power is power and it doesn’t care what twinks on social media have to say about it.

If the west wants supremacy over Russia, they’re going to have to go to war. And the winner is going to have to take on China afterward. The US is the only think keeping Russia from controlling Ukraine and the other former Soviet bloc countries just as it’s the only thing keeping China from going nuclear in India and taking over all of South Asia. And our newest Supreme Court justice can’t opine on the definition of a woman.

Putin and Xi have been in power for decades, and we change our positions every few years. The long game isn’t favorable to the West. We’ve foolishly bought into the falsehood of multiculturalism and lack any unity or shared values. The constitution is now taboo to half the nation.

Nothing that is going on is an occasion to celebrate. We’re sitting on top of a tinderbox, daring the other to strike the match. Don’t buy into the propaganda and don’t cheer on those who are leading us into nuclear war while they have a fortress inside a mountain to remain safe in.

I just saw where some NATO jets had to scramble and escort the Russians out of Poland and Swedish airspace.

I know this type of thing is routine but you'd think they would hit the pause button at a time like this. Too risky.....itchy trigger fingers could lead to disaster.

Remember years ago when Turkey shot down one of their jets?

Check this video out. It popped up in my feed earlier.....

That is bat shit crazy. I love how it takes off and how they catch it in the air.

Watching it reminded me of the first month of the Ukraine war when some of those Russian drones looked like old toys.

When the Soviet Empire collapsed, the deal was their former satellites could be independent, but not fall under the thumb of the US (NATO). With Sweden and Finland joining NATO, Ukraine is really the last buffer for Russia.

Yeah it's a dicey situation.

Even though they have went way too far, you can understand the position of the Russian hardliners to an extent.

I was reminded of this earlier when I saw how Poland will consider stationing US nuclear weapons in their country.....I remember the Clinton-Yeltsin summit when Clinton promised Russia we would not place nukes in Poland or the Baltics...or have a significant military presence on their borders.

We're essentially doing the exact opposite of what we were supposed to do.

Having said that...is it really surprising? The containment of both Russia and China has always been a goal...but are we finally going too far?

We're about to have them completely surrounded with Belarus as the only buffer.

If Russia loses or withdraws from Ukraine...it's probably entering our orbit through EU and/or NATO.

A tinderbox is a good description. One of Putin's justifications for the war was not wanting NATO on their doorstep....now he's about to deal with both Finland and Sweden and the possibility of Ukraine in the alliance.

The typical response to his reasoning has been "suck it up buttercup" but if the tables were turned....Mexico, Cuba, Haiti, etc signing a defensive pact with Russia....we would be going ape shit. We were a cunt hair away from setting the world on fire over Cuba in 62...and that's minor compared to the pickle Russia is in.

There's no easy way out of the crisis.

Putin and Xi have been in power for decades, and we change our positions every few years. The long game isn’t favorable to the West

Yeah...the West only cares about short term(profits) and the political insanity guarantees everything in 2-4 year increments.

Is there even a way out of it? The least we could do is start having 10 year plans similar to China...at least with big projects.

I know it’s biased towards the goals and ends of western oligarchs

Yeah it's probably impossible to get a 100% honest/neutral POV of the war.

The first 4-6 weeks or so, instead of just watching or reading the news, I would check social media (Twitter, Reddit, and a bit of Instagram) to get things straight from the horse's mouth. After awhile....maybe 2-3 weeks...you realize that you're wallowing in an echo chamber of sorts. Even if only watching footage(drone strikes, tanks, gun battles), there's still an agenda behind it. We only see what they want us to see...and they'll craft a narrative...and people run with it.

Here's an example....

https://www.reddit.com/r/CombatFootage/ … ame=iossmf

For anyone unable to watch....

It's a Russian soldier giving a blowjob to another soldier....while a drone looks on and shoots at them.

Why release this? If Russia released video of Ukrainian or British/American volunteers sucking dick before getting killed, it would be scandalous and the world would condemn the action.

In this situation, several narratives immediately popped up....

-Hes forcing the guy to suck his dick...and this leads back to the supposed epidemic of gang rape and hazing in the Russian military.

Either gay jokes or slurs...and how gay people are perceived as weaker than the big strong masculine heterosexual on the "good side".

To show that instead of fighting a regular war, they're committing atrocities on civilians ( the torture rooms) while also fucking one another.

There's always been propaganda in war but the level in this one is unprecedented. TPTB have the monster of social media to spread it instantly.

The coverage is so lopsided....and it got to the point where I was wondering....is all of this real? 18

A good example is those great grannies throwing Molotov cocktails at Russian tanks...and winning!

Obviously Russia is not doing good...but I'm not sure it can be as bad as what is being portrayed on TV/social media.

Have you seen the estimated Russian casualty numbers or the amount of downed jets/helicopters and destroyed tanks? It's insane. It's like Vietnam level numbers...in a matter of months.

Edit

Here's the statistics I saw yesterday:

FeH-ud6XoAIaDDw?format=png&name=medium

That is bat shit crazy.

It's one of the reasons I don't like the world we live in today....we shouldn't have to question base reality.

the US refused to go total war in Vietnam to decisively defeat the north

You ever watch the McNamara doc The Fog of War?

A lot of the higher ups during that war should've been in prison.

open air drug markets

Yeah this is a tragedy...a sign of our eventual collapse.

I was on the verge of tears awhile back when I saw how certain areas of Frisco are turning into Kensington. The same is happening in Seattle, Portland, and Phoenix. Hell...it's probably happening everywhere.

Our leaders don't even bother pretending like they give the tiniest of shits about it.

Between 50-60k Americans die every year from fentanyl...and a lot of it is coming from China and Mexico. It's a form of warfare...they know it's gonna kill tons of people...but it will be allowed to continue quietly in the background.
