I watched the whole game and didn't hear any Chinese Democracy. Maybe I wasn't listening well enough...
Anyway, Stamps won. When's the parade?

Good lord, AR... You're singing LFO.
#93 Re: Guns N' Roses » Who has the album and when did you get it? » 877 weeks ago
I picked it up about 3 pm this afternoon. Giving it the first go-around now, and it's great. Feels crazy.
HMV had it playing in the store. A guy in his fifties was in line ahead of me and he bought it as well. There were two guys behind me who each had a copy. I'm starting to think this is going to sell pretty well.

That's pretty neat. Gotta love the Grey Cup. I was at the West final last weekend and Calgary played shit, but still pulled through. Go Als!!
GNR partnering with the CFL and Grey Cup... pretty good promotion. Out in these parts, Grey Cup is more popular than the Superbowl. Of course, I wouldn't think GNR cares about reaching a few fans in Alberta and Saskatchewan.

At least people physically have it now. I am now sure that it's actually true. Enjoy your day, we've been waiting for it for what seems like forever.

I am watching The Colbert Report right now and he's talking about the album on his regular meTunes section (where he satirically reviews albums). Some of the comments were pretty good. He's angry because they're releasing it on the same day as his Christmas special.
An excerpt:
"You [Axl] have been tinkering with this album for 14 years, you couldn't wait another week? Are you sure the fiftieth backing track on the title song couldn't use a little more reverb? Maybe you should get Brian Wilson into the studio to help you polish it for a few decades."
The album got rated "no mes", which is the lowest Colbert rating. He's angry that they're stealing his thunder and didn't take his suggestion to call the album "Chinese Dentistry" and have all the tracks clock in at 2:30.
Colbert Report reaches a pretty broad audience, so the fact that he's talking about it is pretty good promotion for the Sunday release.

I read about this earlier tonight. Didn't see anything from here, but of course the friggin city lights drown out the night sky anyway. I was eating supper at the time. Wish I would've been on my balcony to see that.
Pretty crazy stuff!!

I think I'll just get it at HMV or Play. They're both only a few blocks away. Depends on which is selling for cheaper. Maybe I'll go to Walmart, but I'd have to take the bus, which costs an extra $2.10. I'm thinking that I wouldn't save more than $2 by buying at Walmart vs. somewhere else, so it's cheaper for me to just stick around here and get it nearby.

Since it was leaked in M4A format, I'm going out on a limb and saying it was done by Apple, assuming the album will be on iTunes in the coming days.
buzz, I think you're going to like some of the songs in their final form.

The Chinese Democracy track is lossless (flac).
Regarding This I Love: it sounds similar to what Slash would've done with the song... not to get the haters going, but it is sort of similar to his style of play. A little cleaner, but packed with bluesy, ballsy, rock and roll.
I think if this song really dates back to 1991, Slash would've recorded something very similar to that. Wish Axl's vocals would date back to that point.
