Had the strangest dream that I becam friends with axl and talked him round to releasing it we were putting it all together and then he decided he wanted it to be an opea!!!! So we rehereased with a choir in a church for some reason!!!!!! I woke up round that part!!!!

Best Buy is set to be the exclusive retailer for Guns N' Roses decade-plus-in-the-making new album "Chinese Democracy" before year's end, sources close to the situation tell Billboard. Some details of the deal are still being worked out, including the release date.
The news brings a semblance of closure to the bizarre history of "Democracy," which Guns N' Roses has been working on since the mid-1990s. Since then, every original member of the once mighty group has left besides vocalist Axl Rose, and millions of dollars have been spent working on the new material.
"Democracy" was most recently on the Interscope release schedule in March 2007. The endless delays encountered by the project reached comic levels this spring, when soft drink manufacturer Dr Pepper offered to send a free can of the beverage to "everyone in America" (excluding ex-GNR members Slash and Buckethead) if "Chinese Democracy" were to arrive anytime during the calendar year 2008.
In June, nine purported "mastered, finished" tracks from the album were leaked online, prompting an FBI investigation into their source. A sign "Chinese Democracy" was perhaps finally nearing release came in July, when the band agreed to debut new track "Shackler's Revenge" in the video game "Rock Band 2," which hit stores earlier this month.
Guns N' Roses is now managed by Irving Azoff's Front Line Management, and Azoff is a well-known proponent of issuing albums exclusively through retailers. He released the Eagles' "Long Road Out of Eden" through Wal-Mart in 2007, much to the chagrin of other merchants, but the album was a runaway hit, having sold 3.1 million copies in the United States, according to Nielsen SoundScan.

I think Best Buy's exclusivity window will be for the Thanksgiving/Black Friday first week of release. Maybe second week, too. That's it. It'll be limited exclusivity, which they've done before, to bank on such a big sales week. This is quickly turning into a brilliant marketing coup. Congrats to the new management. By the way, as for the ball being dropped on SR, can anyone else say "smokescreen"?

No I'm dead serious. Azoff us the best of the best. Maybe he took this whole internet fanbase concept which had been a thorn in the bands side and turned it around son thatit is being used as a valuable asset.
By sending all the fans looking in the wrong direction gnr can sneak this type of film soundtrack up behind the fans without any leaks.
The reason we all gravitated towards persuing shacklers was because The official gnr website pointed us towards it . Months before release!!! It never pointed us towards this song on the ridley scott film and now out of the blue we hear its out in 2weeks with a nu gnr track!!!!!
Wouldn't be surprised if the little side plot ar regarding the patenting of certain tracks was brewed up to keep attention on a different subject.

Its not. Seems to me that shack was released to keep the fans busy whie The camp were gearing up for this film. This film will be the real deal... The song didn't leak cos no one knew it was coming..Shack hasn't got a proper itunes release. This song will. We were all to busy with shack tofind out bout this song. I would like to point you towards the gnr evolution mantra that states that every member regardless of number of posts is treated equally. Your elitist attitude is not going to gain you an more or less respect than the so called " n00b" with 1 post. At least that is the aim of the website. Just because someone cannot afford to put as much time into the community as another member does not mean that they do not put the SAME PERCENTAGE of their "Free" time into the community.
