I wonder if its maturity or medication TBH but it seems to work for him.

He took it pretty well - stuff like that must be frustrating as a performer as it can make it look like you're not playing it right.

I seriously don't get Night rain. It's all a matter of taste, but it's one of the more pedestrian songs on the album. The live version is a whole other beast.
For me it's not pedestrian on the album but there's no doubt the live version is better - the way axl screams out those "I guess I'll never fucking learn" type lines, and Slash's solo tends to be the same but a little more intense.
I find this with a lot of GNR though.
It's like Slash uses the record as a blue print then plays it better live, and the little changes Axl makes often really add to the songs like the Jungle Screams and so on.

Both the vocals and guitars are assaulting you and not in a good way.
I didn't care for the style. Felt like Slash doing Metallica, Skynyrd, and Alice In Chains.
Maybe we just have different taste.
I don't really hear much Metallica in it, I guess perhaps "Lower" has a little AIC but it's really more of a bluesfest to me.
Do you like Slash's guitar style on AFD or UYI1 or are you more of a CD man?
I ask cos the guitar style he uses seems very similar to me on those 3 records.

I ended up voting brownstone because that was my favourite song during my whole teens basically.
However, I also have a VERY soft-spot for PC, Jungle and Nightrain

Did you confirm she definitely saw you?
Did she give any reason for seemingly ignoring you? Or ofter any type of apology?
Makes me worry it was some type of a stunt on her behalf to impress her friend or something.
Have you known her long? I've found if people are disrespectful to your feelings early then it rarely gets any better. Most people are on their best behaviour during early flirting/dating then start getting gradually worse....so I'd be careful if there's no good reason for this incident.

The Nightrain live blows the album version away.
The interesting thing about that is most GNR songs are actually arranged better live IMO.
The studio jungle misses Axl's "Do you know where you are?" parts to me these days, and I miss the longer intro to Brownstone that Matt and Slash used to jam too.

I felt like throwing my laptop out the window when Mischa Barton was verbally attacked when she tweeted about how sad it was that black guy was shot by white cops and something needs to be done about it. Black people said she was "out of touch". She apologized and removed the tweet. We live in a world where a white woman must apologize for feeling sorry for a black victim.
I think the thing that offended people wasn't that she was a white woman who felt sorry for a black person
It was that the same message also included a photography of her drinking wine, in a sexy bikini, on a yacht in the ocean.
So it's like in the same message where she purports to feel for others she couldn't resist a chance to demonstrate visually how much wealth and sex appeal she has!
Imagine if you posted a bereavement card to me to sympathise about my dead relative but included a shot of you flexing your new gym muscles kicking back in your ferrari. What is out of touch was the social appropriateness of instragram-style self promotion during a social/political uproar.

I don't think Axl would re-record them. He is a man of loyalty and honor.
I don't see that re-recording them would make him disloyal or dishonourable.
Chinese Democracy as a project was always a quest to achieve Axl's vision for the songs using the abilities and talents of those around him. Over the years the songs went through dozens of versions.
Some of this involved stuff like Bucket replacing Robin in passages, Bumble replacing Bucket, Richard replacing Huge, and all kinds of cutting and pasting and blending of parts. Hell Robin's version of TIL may well have been a re-record of Slash given the song was written years before Slash left.
Was it dishonourable to deliver the 2008 album as reworked from the 1999 versions.
Although others talents are used, at the end of the day it's Axl's project and it's up to him to determine when something is done and what changes might improve it.
That he released a version in 2008 shouldn't stop him making revisions if he felt like it.
Secondly, even if it was a bad thing to do, it clearly hasn't stopped him before, why is there a DJ Ashba remix of Better? Why Is there a Robin fink version of Sweet Child Of Mine?
And wouldn't the record company have to pay add'l royalties if they did?
Not really, the label pays the same per track, it's more about how that amount would then be divided up differently amongst the band.
