There are a lot of teams with WR issues.  Some of them have playoff aspirations (SEA,SD, TEN, IND  probably more teams) and they might overlook the personality + salary problems that Moss brings for a shot at a ring.

The upside is he turns it on and becomes a deep threat and you don't have to deal with him for next year.  There's also the impending lockout next year too.  It's not that big a risk.

Also, some GMs and owners don't really think about the chemistry issue like you or I do, they see Randy Moss and just see a great player (cough...Washington).

I don't think the Pats will win a waiver wire claim though they're at the bottom of the list.  Best record in NFL means you claim last.  I figure someone (anyone?) will claim him just to keep him away from NE.

If they fire Childress in season, they're basically punting on the entire season.  I think he goes after this year.  Vikings still need to get financing for a new stadium and this disaster of a season isn't helping.

Damn this is insane.  4 games and they're out a 3rd round pick.  Man they should just start Tarvaris Jackson in this case.  If the season going down in flames, they might as well tank for a higher 1st round pick.  I'd like for the Titans to try to pick him up but Jeff Fisher doesn't like Moss for whatever reason.  FWIW, a few members of the team have already said they want the Titans to sign him.  He's on waivers though and they might not have the chance.

What would be really hilariously funny would be if the Cowboys or 49ers picked him up,  that would be OAK 2006 Moss revisited again.

Oh yeah, the Patriots got a 3rd rounder for free.  I still don't know how MIN just cuts him after a month.

Edit:  The Redskins could also pick him up.  They like picking up name players regardless of personality.  Also they suck at WR too.

#1344 Re: Guns N' Roses » Slash commenting on Duff with GNR » 811 weeks ago

I think Slash (and Axl) knows that GNR can't tour the US (at least not stadiums/arenas) without him.  I wonder whether or not some sort of compromise can be reached where Slash gets a bigger cut of the tour revenue and Axl shows up on time and is professional.  If they insist on the name I don't think it's going to work.  The interesting part for me is that last line where he talks about a real working band.  He might he be talking about recording a new album/sessions where Axl has to show up and not keep everybody waiting.

And yeah the Malibu mafia can stay at Axl's house and a real management team can be hired along with a new website designer.

I think they could probably rotate drummers where Adler shows up for a few shows (major US Cities) and Frank or Sorum does the rest  of the dates.

Speaking of the delays, you wonder at what point the label would drop him. They dumped a ridiculous amount of cash into CD and it was a big flop. The band is Guns in name only.

It depends.  At this point, he's not actually costing them anything because I don't think he's been in the studio for a while.  OTOH, I'm not sure the label wants to miss out on the potential (unlikely as discussed during the last page) of a reunion + new album by the original GNR.  They could also just be jerks about it and just refuse to release him since he's badmouthed them for a while.  It's happened before where a label refuses to release a band from a contract yet at the same time wants nothing to do with them.

Ideally, I'd like to see him release new material (or just empty the CD vaults) and then reunite for a cash grab tour with the old guys.  I never saw them either in their prime, so I'd be excited to see them.

The problem in releasing new material is that he just takes forever to complete an album.  Part of it is the name thing where he has ultimate control and has final say on most things; the other part is that he is a perfectionist and has to tweak everything.

In an ideal world, he'd be releasing albums every few years and touring to support that material.  I think fans would be a little less critical if he just increased his musical output.  They'd talk a bit more about this new material and less about the original stuff.  He had at least 70 songs for the cd sessions allegedly.

You know reading his response a little closer, I've come to the conclusion that he (Axl) is probably telling the truth.  I'm not sure I trust either of these guys as you mentioned because one group was stoned as hell and the other one is crazy.  I just wish there was some other reliable source that would provide a definitive answer.  I guess Axl's account provides a little more details (the initialing part).  I'd be really embarrased too if I just randomly signed a document without looking over it tooth and nail just because if I was high or strung out.

They're both liars though and it makes it kinda hard to make a decision on this.  Has anyone actually backed up Slash's story?  My memory is kinda faulty on that one.

Best they can do at this point without going over into the band name/rights is to go for a reunion tour and release old stuff (live albums, bluray etc).  God knows they have a bunch of live albums stored in the vault.  Any attempts at working on new stuff would just bring up the old wounds regarding the name ownership and Axl's work ethic  and Slash's PR strategy (from Axl's POV).  Better to have just a reunion with nothing but the old stuff (AFD/Lies/UYI/UYII) than to have them reform and then break up because of old tension.

That might be plausible for just a reunion tour of the old hits.  I don't see them agreeing to anything like that if they want to record new stuff with him though.  The waiting and inevitable Axl delays over new material would drive all of them insane especially Slash.  And they would have no recourse since he owns the name.

#1349 Re: Dust N' Bones & Cyborg Slunks » Slash added Welcome to the Jungle to the setlist! » 811 weeks ago

I wonder how close they actually were in 2006 to reuniting.  It probably would have been as a one off (or just a few dates) and they would all go their separate ways after that.  Then there was that rumor that Axl tried to get everyone to sign over the catalog rights to the songs that just kibashed the entire thing.

They should have just let him quit during that day when they signed over the rights.  Things were already going south in the band and there was already tension all around.  Why sign them over to give him more power when they are already pissed at him for some of his actions?  Was Izzy around when this happened (I forgot when he quit)?  He would have been the one guy in the old band who wouldn't have put up with that stunt.  The other 2 guys were too fucking stoned or drunk to think well.

Has anyone been keeping track of the injuries lately?  Dallas Clark out; Austin Collie out; Joseph Addai out.  Desean Jackson out.  I had to pick up an extra TE because Gates is questionable and Keller is on bye.  Naturally one of my starting WR might not play so I'm forced to use Gates in a flex position.
