Chinese Democracy is probably one of the few album cuts that I prefer over the leaks. It just sounds heavier and meaner than the leak.
I'm really not sure what they did to the Blues. I think they added too much synth/orchestra when they should have just left it alone.

saw a couple of real good ones in the past few days:
White Night(2009) Korean film. Thriller/drama reminded me of "Audition" not as psychologically intense though.
Tell No One (2006) French. Very intelligent and smartly crafted French thriller. Shades of Hitchcock. The director has a cameo in the film.

Really tough one but since we have two Batman films. I'll go with V.

I love both these films but voted for Unforgiven because it is an anti-western in some terms. I have no issue if Seven wins this matchup.

McNabb just got traded to the Redskins. For a 2nd this year and either a 3rd or 4th next year. Interesting domino effect on the draft. Redskins will go OL at #4 and Claussen will fall a bit maybe into the teens if the Bills don't pick up.
Good move by Phily as they got the best value they could from McNabb. He wasn't going to fetch a 1st round pick (too old); they got the 37th pick which is pretty good for a guy who can't stay fully healthy.

I think the original Swedish film does have subtitles since it's been in limited release in the States here. I believe some of the PAL dvd versions don't have English subs. I've seen the third movie(in PAL version) floating around a torrent site I frequent. OT: Does Australia use NTSC or PAL for video?
For the American version, I think the rumor I read said that David Fincher wanted Kristen Stewart (of Twilight fame) to play Lisbeth Salander. That might pose a problem because there are some pretty explicit sex scenes in the novels.
Amyway, the author Stieg Larrson has a pretty interesting story too as he died a few years ago (cancer, I think) after he submitted manuscripts for the first three novels. Now that the books have become a huge hit, the remaining part of his family (brother and father) are trying to liimit the amount of royalities/income received on the book by his life partner/girlfriend. She and Larrson weren't married and I don't think she is entitled to the profits. so that's a big mess.
The only trump card held by the girlfriend is that she allegedly has a partial manuscript (or something to the effect) of a fourth novel from The Millenium Series (the set of Blomkvist/Salander novels). So there might be a small chance that there could be a fourth novel in the future.
Anyway enjoy the book!

I have just been bought Steig Larsson's trilogy of books and have only just opened the first one "The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo".
Anybody read this before? Any feedback?
Yes, it's great. You're lucky as the third part of the Trilogy isn't due to hit the US until May. There have been 3 movies made from the books. The first one "The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo" got 4 stars from Roger Ebert. I think an American remake is being planned with David Fincher slated to direct it. At least that's the rumor I read.
I thought the first book (Dragon Tattoo) was slightly better than the follow up "The Girl who played with Fire."

Voted for The Shining. Can never finish watching Batman in one sitting always end up falling asleep at some point. The two Nolan Batman films would get my vote easily.

great playing by Slash even if the vocalist is annoying at times. Metal style shredding.

Versus (2000) zombie/samurai film from Japan. Lots of blood and gore. There are too many slow shots and a lot of Reservoir Dogs style stuff where guys end up just standing there and pulling guns on one another. The director also directed Sky High which covers similiar themes and does it in a far more intelligent fashion. Still watchable just not as great as I'd thought it'd be from reading reviews.
