honestly, i wonder if axl actually feels guilty for his part with the way things went down with the old band and for releasing an album under the gnr name without the guys that helped build the gnr name. that would explain his hiding out. and before someone tries to tell me that this is how axl always is, you are wrong. you only have to go back as far as early '06 when axl tought the album was coming out and you will see a much more public axl. now that it's actually been followed through with he realizes how he truly feels.

last night when i was driving home from work the radio chick on 93x.com here in minneapolis quoted someone (i didn't hear the name) from system of a down saying that they would reform when the original gnr reforms.
could be completely irrelevant or could be a tell (obivously unlikely)
how awesome would it be if original gnr and system toured together

There is no single to get people hooked. Doesn't logic have to enter into your thought process at some point? People that love the album admit there is no killer single on it. Think about that for awhile.

it's hard for me to say exactly what i am dissappointed in since we have no clue if there are future plans or what is going on behind the scenes that may justify or explain the situation.
i'm dissappointed in the tracklist consisting almost 80 percent of leaked and toured songs.
not that i need to defend this opinion here so much but, just in case, the old "he doesn't owe you anything" is not valid when the album has been promised over and over again since the late 2000's. for gnr to turn around after putting us loyal fans on hold for so many years and release primarily a bunch of songs we've already been listening to is unforgivable.
i'm dissapointed with the sales and only because i want to hear the rest of material that we won't get to hear if the album flops and axl retires. more than that i want to hear these songs live and that may not happen for the same reasons.
which leads into my next disspointment which is ...
the lack of involvement in the release promo from axl rose - an exclusive interview with rolling stone or whoever could have made a big difference in sales. one peformance on tv of this i love featuring axl rose and dizzy reed could have made a big difference in sales.

the songs i originally liked the least - prostitute and catcher in the rye are now my favorites, after sorry.
madagascar, my long time favorite i am just plain sick of and can't believe axl went those vocals. listen to that one never.
