#171 Re: Dust N' Bones & Cyborg Slunks » Interview with Slash in 1995 » 883 weeks ago
I find it funny how people think Duff follows Slash everywhere, but he was actually on board to do an industrial CD with Axl.
Do people think that? I cant imagine an industrial album done by Duff (a punk), Slash ( a solid rock n roll bluesy dude) or Axl (whose industrial chops at the time amounted to the magnificent My World), that would be th weirdest album ever. Just a weird blend that prob wouldnt work, a bit like if Kerry King tried to do a disco album.
Slash seems like some sort of Nostradamus in this video. If he watched that vid now he'd probably crack up laughing.
Brilliant bit about Paul Huge.

I can see Axl phoning up Slash and saying 'Na na na na na, when you were here we did 2 albums in one day. now I've done 3, beat that!'
I'd seriously love for there to be 3 albums in one day, but after 14 years of not one album I just cant get my head round the idea. Still, it'll be good if they just dump this whole sorry saga at once and get it over with.
It must just be different covers or something....

Blood Ceremony - Awesome
Kings of Leon - pretty disappointing compared to past albums, very samey.
#177 Re: Guns N' Roses » Bumble playing with a (tribute) GNR » 885 weeks ago
I can see why people complain about this, and why people defend it. Personally I think it's wrong because I do not see Ron as a part of GNR. And it's not his fault. Somebody else is making sure we see everyone in that band except him as non relevant and not GNR. To me Ron happens to play in a tribute band that has the original singer of of the band that is being paid hommage. That's the problem. But nice of him to jam with those guys.
I pretty much agree with this. The thing that I find weird is what must he be thinking when hes up there with guys paying tribute to a band which, in that form, doesnt exist anymore. There wasnt anyone up there playing tribute to the current band and that must smart a little for one of the new guys. Its cool that guys can get up and play with tribute bands or whatever for a bit of fun, but in this case it just seems inappropriate and bizarre.
Still, its nice to seem him and Slash sharing a stage.

Theres a company in the UK who offer loads of free printing providing they can put there URL on the back. They do free business cards, fridge magnets, mousemats etc. When I get more time I'm gonna have them print a hundred mousemats, fridge magnets etc and we'll just give em all away
Maybe we could run a contest to decide what photos to use. I'd prefer having an Axl magnet than one with just our logo, though maybe we can throw that on it too. We'd probably need permission from the photographer but providing we give credit I cant see many complaining
I think the logo of this site is sick, it should be on any merch, official or unnoficial. Axl N Friends should buy the design without a doubt....
#179 Re: Dust N' Bones & Cyborg Slunks » New GNR vs old GNR/ GNR vs Velvet Revolver thread » 885 weeks ago
Locomotive98 wrote:bigbri wrote:Actually, that doesn't work when I want to talk "Best Buy leaks" after I've been away for a day or so and the conversation has morphed into old-vs.-new.
THAT'S the problem.
Theres a 'Best Buy thread' thread in another part of the site btw.
The old vs new argument is more than relevant in this part of the site, hence the title.
This entire thread was part of the Best Buy thread until last night.
OK, sorry must've missed that. I guess this thread is more than relevant then to th subject then!

Unless these tribute bands are paying tribute to CD, he doesn't need to be involved. A casual fan there to hear AFD will think he's an actual member of the tribute band.
Its time to stop living in the past, especially when you had nothing to do with that past. If I want to live in the past, I'll start begging for a reunion.
I still don't understand why Axl doesn't fire these guys when they do this shit. Hire people who don't exploit the name for their own benefit.
James, this photo to me is too funny - he pretty much is playing tribute to the band in the first place, who, apart from us nerds knows who the hell this guy is? Credibility? Leave that at the door please.....
Next photo, Richard Fortus's fret punching rendition of Pretty in Pink (originally by the Psychedelic Furs) Followed by 'Dave' doing a cover of It's so Easy, because he happened to walk by Rumbo in the same week GNR originally cut that tune. Ridiculous.
I suppose he has to make a wage though, Im sure the flyer on the Scout Hut did say Guns N Roses after all..... So fucking lame.
