In many ways, especially in the "rock media," you have become a sort of "unofficial mouthpiece" for Guns N' Roses in the past few years.

Yeah.

Does this ever put you in a bad spot or become a bit of a burden?

Uh, yeah, actually it does. Actually, just yesterday. I do talk about him a lot and I don't know what to do. What, am I not supposed to talk about the best singer in the world who just happens to be my buddy? [laughs] It is kinda hard NOT to talk about it! I did an interview with a magazine last week where I went into detail about our collaboration and they condensed it into about three sentences, which wasn't cool. So, he [Axl] was asking me about it and I said, "I never said this." So maybe sometimes I should talk a little less about him, but it is hard. Number one, I am a fan and mumber two, he is a friend, and number three, he is on my record. So I just have to trust the writers not to twist my words and I don't have a bad word to say about him. It is not in my being. So I do have to be careful.

Here's the real truth on Bach.

From the likes of this photo, I would say that Bach deep down wants to be a chick so that would explain his lust for Axl.

For those of you who read Slash's book, did you notice in I think Chapter 11 when he details the UYI tour, and talks about completing UYI I and II he says that Axl said this:

"the motherfucker is done"

So now we have to wait for anyone in the band to say that about CD and that is our cue that it is done

None of you people should even give Brody the time of day.  When he starts to spew his bullshit at HTGTH, don't even post back to him.  Let him be an idiot all on his own.  Fact is the guy lied and is  extremely unprofessional so why would any of you even waste your time even stooping to his level of unprofessionalism/immaturity?

#185 Re: Guns N' Roses » Interesting read on Axl, touring, albums in Slash's biography » 921 weeks ago

This book actually surpised me.  I really think that Slash praises Axl in it more than he criticizes.  Also, Slash in the book, says many times that he let a lot of stuff happen between him and Axl because he was so drugged out he didn't care to fight the situation.  So that to me is Slash admitting he wishes things could have been different.

Yes, Slash has changed his story in the media numerous times about reunions, his visit to Axl's home, etc. but what I got out of reading this book was that Slash still respects Axl to a point (maybe as a performer and not as a person?) but nonetheless, he isn't very critical in his wordings.  He is more criticial of Steven and how Steven couldn't seem to manage his heroin/cocaine addicition and still play on stage where Slash had no problem managing the too.

Just my opinion though when I read this book.

Edit to add that when I say Slash respects Axl as a perfomer, he praises him many times as an awesome frontman and lyricist.  The only thing that he did not like was the latenees of Guns taking the stage.

I posted this in this section because what I have read resembles an uncanny resemblance to scenarios we've had over the past few years.

Around Chapter 8, Slash talks about the tours they did to promote AFD.

What I found intersting was this remark:

"We did a mini tour after that it was something Alan booked to keep up our momentum.  We played a theater in Phoenix with TSOL and I remember that when I arrived there, everyone in our camp was happy and relieved to see me.  I was suntanned and Doug was very proud according to him he'd taken me down to Hawaii and straightened me out.  I found that pretty funny.

We did the first gig and it was fine, but the second night Axl didn't show up.  He refussed to leave his room.  I don't know how intensely Doug and Alan tried to get him out of there, and I still don't understand why he wouldn't come out but it was a serious blow to morale in my mind...."

In reading this, it seems that Axl started pulling these "no shows" after the Motley Crue tour when Guns opened for them.  It was also the time Axl was involved with Erin Everely.

Slash also makes a really good point in that he says the floodgates of dysfunction were open at this point.

Slash also goes into detail about how when they were opening for other bands, they were supposed to be promoting their record which goes to show you that they were opening for the headliners and touring with a RELEASED record and not how Guns does it now where they tour and don't have an album out.  I can understand a AFD relived tour but they called it the Chinese Democracy tour in 06 and they never had an album out.

Slash also talks about the simplicity involved in the making and recording of AFD as well as Lies.  I wonder now with the onset of technology, if CD will be way overproduced.  If Guns could throw together a kick ass album like AFD in as little time as it took them to do it, I am kinda at odds about the demise of CD now after reading Slash's book.

Also, we never did get a reason as to why Axl canceled the Philly gig.  We got one for the Portland, Maine one last year.  So maybe there is some truth to Axl not wanting to leave his hotel room afterall?

When I read this, I had Jameslofton in the back of my head because he's been spot on about this incarnation touring on the back catelog of AFD because it works.

Has anyone else read or is reading this book?  It's interesting that Axl was this way (missing shows, staying in hotel rooms and having to be coaxed out) long before 2007 and even before they were headlining.

Your thoughts?

Here's a little tidbit on a loud mouthed Bach:

I partied with Axl Rose and co.....
Current mood:  shocked

Friday 15th June 2007...... Guns 'n Roses ROCKED Rod Laver, with supporting act the Sebastian Bach band....

In certain pieces of this blog, I won't be mentioning names...

I am fortunate to know one of the band members of the Bach band so I was given show passes after party passes too....

A couple of my good friends came along with me..... Bach's show was pretty good, not his best but they still rocked...

I was blown away by Axl and band's show.... Axl's voice was powering, his presence, attitude and health 150%... AWESOME!!

We ended up back stage, partying with both bands..... Met all members of both bands.... 95% of the dudes were lovely.... Axl was amazing, interested in everything both male and female fans had to say to him... He didn't hesitate in answering anyone's questions.  He impressed me with his composed, polite and intelligent way about him...  a powerful man...

We left Rod Laver and were all driven to a club, surrounded by security...  I never imagined I'd enter a club with Axl in front of me and Sebastian Bach behind me... Hehe... We partied, drank the bar dry, smoked cigars (I shared one with Axl) and Axl was even shaking it on the dance floor for a song or two....

A few of us and I were then invited back to Axl's hotel room... By this stage it was about 6.30 am.  Axl played the Baby Grand in his room while I sat next to him in awe, what a talent.... He was so amazingly hospitable.... he fed us beautiful red wine and breakfast.

The morning ended in a rather bizarre fashion....... A certain celebrity over the night's behaviour was horrendous... Many of us were dumbfounded.... 'It's nice to be important but it's important to be nice' is my theory...  Unfort this certain someone was behaving like his shit doesn't stink and because he is who he is, believes he has the right to enter our beautiful country and insult not only his fans but people in general around him...

You know the upsetting thing about this person's behaviour is that he has been my number 1 idol for 17 years....... I have spent hours and hours and hours since I was 15 years old listening to, reading about and watching on tv and I have attended every live concert he performed in Melbourne.....

Very disheartening..... I could tell you more but I'll leave it at that....

Here's to the big talents out there who are good friends of mine and would NEVER treat anyone in a disgraceful manner...... You guys are the Gods of Rock!

XX Nat

P.S. I took just a few pics I've posted, check em out

One particular comment in general

wow!hanging out with the elite of rockstars there! What an amazing story. One of the downsides to meeting your idols can be seeing what they're really like. I've met quite a few-some were good (Dimebag Darrel-wot a legend!)-others were pricks(Jerry Cantrell...dick).
The one you're referring to above was on a reality music show called "Supergroup" and was told to quit drinking(by Ted Nugent-wot a guy!) as he became a "jackass", and was not good to be around. Either it was for show or he actually considered it, either way he didn't change his ways and it is still a problem for him. Don't let that memory change the vibe of what must have been a surreal nite.Amazing story.

Cheers

So tell me if now you believe Baz?

He's a drunken fool.  And by the looks of who hung out with him, he's annoying and disrespectful.  If that is how he acts while intoxicated, I can only imagine hanging with him if he's sober.  No thanks.

#188 Re: Guns N' Roses » Baz now claims 4 GNR albums exist » 921 weeks ago

I can't believe Axl can't hype his own album.  Or the members in the band can't hype this.   They  have to rely on Bach to do it?

Sorry but after hearing him on that Eddie Trunk show last Friday (he sounded very wasted to me), I am not putting much faith into what Bach says.

Besides, why is he allowed to talk about CD yet members in the band can't?

When I go to Best Buy and see CD in the case, then I'll believe it's out.  When I can hear it for my own ears, I'll believe it's "epic/mindblowing".

Until then, Bach is blowing smoke up Axl's ass and it's getting annoying.

Concentrate on your own record Bach.

glenn says on 4/Nov/07
he left new york almost or exactly a month ago.he was here 6-8 weeks before that.long before the fires.im not sure whats going on with the cd.my educational guess, being im a music and industry expert,is that they are preparing a promotional campaign.trying to figure out best time to release, first single, track listing and order.and like i said, there was monetary issues involved.or to be settled.and he fired his management team over a year ago.so maybe he deciding what label to have it released on and have whole different team behind it.not sure.didnt really talk to him this trip.only his people.he can be moody.nothing new.usually a great guy
