NEEMO -
that's not what i said - read what i am responding to:
november rain boring without slash?
since all he does is solo in that song i disagree. solos don't make songs like NR great. they may compliment them but that's it.
as far as coma, go play all of slash's parts and see how long of a song you have, compared to how long the song actually is. there is a big difference bewteen writing a couple small riffs and writing a song. if slash got the writing credit for coma it was only because he came up with his parts before anyone else did but he is not responsible for pulling everything together and making it into and actual song.

although slash was certainly an important member of gnr novmber rain was a big production and, whether you like slash's work on it or not, it was primarily solos and the average listener doesn't notice the difference between good and bad solos.
coma is basically one riff with a ton of effects and lyrics. if slash came up with all of those things i would be impressed but i do not think he came up with anything other than the main riff, the equally basic chorus, and the outro solo. a great song by the way.

i love afd
and would like nothing more than axl releasing all of the new music followed by a full reunion

And that was ONLY because of Axl. That's been stated in countless interviews over the years by band members, and people close to the band.
Axl was the one pushing for another direction, and the rest of the band wanting to stick with the "tried and true" sound. Their initial reaction to songs like Rain & Estranged was utter disgust.
been referencing that for years
some people don't want to admit that axl was more than a singer/lyricist

I don't agree. UYI was a drastic departure from AFD.
umm that would mean you do agree
i spoke pretty clearly but apparently you did not understand my point/post

And this is now the second song i can say honestly that we've heard Bbf on.
To me it sounded exactly like the version we got last month or so.
CD is way different, plus the last lyric has been changed and has a high pitched Axl vocal track now
yeah i noticed that too. i know i already mentioned this but did you notice the sweet ass new effects at .34 of CD, banging and echoing in rythmic form.
if these songs sound better to us now over a crappy cell phone imagine what they will sound like blasting out of stereos in high digital quality.

#1968 Re: Guns N' Roses » HOLD ON: NY Times reporting deal NOT done! » 920 weeks ago

how do you really know that something like this isn't done if you are the media? you only know that it hasn't been officially confirmed. i doubt anyone in the know from best buy or universal, sitting behind closed doors staring across the table from gnr managment, is telling the press that it is not done.
all you have is the spectators piecing together the obvious which is that it is done or it will be done soon. so far, for all we know it is.
we're talking about a guy who makes his audiences and band members wait hours and hours for him to show up at his shows. why would it be any different for this? i think we can finally let our guards down.
#1969 Re: Guns N' Roses » HOLD ON: NY Times reporting deal NOT done! » 920 weeks ago
the dotted line may not be signed but everything else is done. the negotiations, the planning, the current and future strategies, the marketing, etc. axl may still need to sign but that is it and i know it is hard to be in this postion and people are afraid to get burnt but the one that is gonna get burnt the most, if this falls through is axl. axl showed us all he was ready when he hired azoff/gould earlier this year and started releasing his music to games and movies. it's not ultimately what we want but it is a step in the right direction that proves his intentions in getting his creation to the people. the album now has a solid foundation of support behind it - if axl goes bat crazy and tries to hold it back even his lack of approval could be side steeped at this point.
my scepticism in this theory that it is less than 99.9 percent a done deal is because of the confirmed best buy convention or whatever it was. would gnr managment be playing three potential singles from the album to a bunch of best buy executives or whatever they were if a deal was less than certain to take place in the coming quarter???????????????

the intro to chinese democracy sounds much improved
it has some bass like pounding rythm in the part right before the scream
