#281 Re: The Garden » John McCain goes to Ottawa, defends NAFTA » 899 weeks ago
Way too tired and stoned to get into a NAFTA debate, but McCain is making a mistake by not distancing himself from that mess. NAFTA was a huge mistake that needs to be flushed down the toilet.
I know globalization is here to stay, but NAFTA was the wrong detour.
I agree with that... NAFTA's a disaster. The U.S. drives the North American (and world) economy. If one of the other countries breaks the agreement, they are held responsible and the U.S. threatens to impose trade embargoes. However, if it goes the other way, Americans can break it because the Canadian and Mexican depend so much on America's products and can't do dick about it.

I thought last night was Friday?
Sundin in Montreal will never happen. He's either going to stay in Toronto or retire. Tanguay's an interesting deal and we didn't give up much to get him. It looks for sure that Ryder's not going to be in Montreal at the start of the season. Tanguay will likely take his spot in the lineup.
#283 Re: Guns N' Roses » Questions about the leaks. » 899 weeks ago
I want some where Axl doesn't sound like he just inhaled a load of helium... I'm sorry, these recent leaks aren't doing much for me. Maybe I should listen again.
I believe the album is not with the label. It wouldn't make sense. As madagas and a few others have been saying all along, how can you be in negotiations about something when you don't even have it in your possession? What is more probable is that they gave the label a crapload of demos (to display their "progress," maybe a contractual stipulation after dragging it on so long) and are building negotiations around that about what tracks to include, etc. Who knows though?
In the end, whatever leaks come out, I'm glad to have them, because I really don't see anyone trying to release this now. Why release something for profit that the general public can access for free? Especially after this gets published everywhere... All of this waiting and suspense is just hurting the band's chances of financial gain. The label has nothing to gain for delaying either. They're losing out when something leaks, and the longer they hold out, the more chance there is for a leak to happen. Of course, the more leaks that happen, the further away the release becomes.

That's crazy. I would say you got overexcited about the new leaks.
Glad you're doing well now, though!
#285 Re: Guns N' Roses » Overall feelings on the CD era songs.... » 899 weeks ago
I gotta say, I like TWAT and CD, but other than that, I can leave the leaks. I'm not a fan of Axl's Mickey Mouse voice in The Blues and these new songs.

Help!
Rubber Soul
Revolver
Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band
Magical Mystery Tour
The Beatles (white album)
Abbey Road
Let it Be
All classic albums by The Beatles... and they were all released in a row. I, along with The Beatles, do not consider Yellow Submarine an official studio album, and therefore I can tack Abbey Road and Let it Be in there.

I'm pissed. I went to get an Alberta driver's license today and they took my old NL driver's license... the problem is that they mail the Alberta license to you, so now I have to wait 2 weeks before I can do anything (including driving) that requires a photo ID. how stupid! I don't understand why they have to take it... I mean, what the hell am I supposed to do? I told her she had no right to take it and I needed it back and she said it was within her rights or some bullshit.
#288 Re: Guns N' Roses » Richard talks GnR in Japanese Magazines » 900 weeks ago
What motive would a magazine have publishing this irrelevant information in the first place? If they're trying to sell copies, they'll fake an interview with a bigger name in a bigger band. It's possible that Richard talked too much and had to retract his statement as a result.
#289 Re: The Sunset Strip » The Ultimate Showdown #1...WINNER ANNOUNCED » 900 weeks ago
I had to vote for Bon Scott. I think his voice is a lot stronger than Brian's. That, and my favourite AC/DC songs and albums came from his era.
