it's definitely tour-related. the whole video is about the different milestones of the tour and it's got the #notinthislifetime hashtag in the comments.
as much as i'd like this to be something about music, it's likely just the much rumored dates in los angeles.
an official dvd release of the houston or detroit shows would be dope, though. small chance it could be something like that.
have they been filming all the shows for this tour?

the hopeful part of me feels like axl is making a strategic attempt to win himself back over in the public eye.
showing up to concerts on time, taking a stance against public enemy #1 (trump), singing his fuckin' heart out in ac/dc, and now this.
i mean, it is working -- it's crazy how the public image of him has done a complete 180 in just over a year.
why would he be doing this? so when he drops a brand new guns album w/ slash and duff, it will be universally praised and axl will go out the way he deserves. i know he's said he's happy with how cd turned out, but his actions speak much louder than words in that regard. i don't think he's the type of guy to let that be the last time we ever hear him on wax.

pretty cool fuckin' news: 3 of bucket's best records are getting vinyl releases
http://www.bucketheadpikes.com/index.html
crime slunk scene, elephant man's alarm clock and bucketheadland
just ordered a signed copy of elephant man's alarm clock
i remember wanting that so bad 10 years ago when it first came out, but i was broke as shit at the time and couldn't afford it
i'd love to see colma get a vinyl release, but i will gladly take whatever i can get!

Can't see both a GN'R and an AC/DC album happening in the same year – they're both massive undertakings and would cannibalise each others' press and promotion. And they'd both be time-sinks for Axl – GN'R would want a big tour to coincide with their album, and AC/DC would want the same. Since the bands are of the same stature, they'd be competing with each other for venues and dates (and Axl!). The danger is that an Axl/DC album comes out first and ends up sucking up all of his time for a couple of years of touring, which puts the kibosh on a GN'R album for at least that long.
yeah, that worries me too. hopefully ax has laid down a bunch of vocals for gnr already. i really hope those rumors about him spending extended time in the studio in 2015 are true.
not sure how well his voice is gonna be at ~58 after running around the world belting out ac/dc again.
in any case, i'd gladly take any new music at this point. whether it's ac/dc, gnr, axl solo.... anything.
honestly, i think a leak, single or video from either axl/dc or gnr would light the world on fire. it could bring back that excitement we all felt when hearing some of those leaks for the first time. i feel like an addict.... just give me that damn rush again!

chinese democracy didn't really stand out to me. madagascar was the most interesting.... it stuck with me more than any other of the new songs.
hearing slash play cd live is something else though, i tell ya.
I remember listening to the leaked version of Madagascar on my walk to work. Fucking hell, that was inspiring. I wish they'd bust it out live again (and give Fortus the solo like they did in 2006).
madagascar is axl's strongest lyrical performance since coma or locomotive, imo. simple, yes, but the message of the song is incredibly powerful. this is highlighted by the simplicity of the music -- madagascar is one of the only cd songs that didn't suffer from drowning in layers of noise and nonsense.
with the lyrics, axl was taking a triumphant stance on the old band and his situation at the time.
"forgive them that tear down my soul,
bless them that they might grow old,
and free them so that they may know,
that it's never too late"
always loved this part especially. to me, it was axl letting slash, duff, izzy and the rest of the world know that there could be a reunion at some point down the line.
and look where we are now!
#338 Re: Guns N' Roses » Slash back in the studio » 437 weeks ago
Key word - "new" music. I said leftover chinese tracks. Why on earth would Slash and Duff want to play on a song written by Robin Finck and Paul Huge, release it, and see those guys make money off it. No chance.
Don't misinterpret what I said as Axl is dying to get new music out there...
slash and duff could at least lace up some of the mythical songs we never had the chance to hear.
the general, seven, thyme... those type of songs. it's the only proper way to let these songs be heard at this point.
with the inclusion of slash and duff, these could be the biggest, most well-received songs of the post-94 era of guns.
especially if we got an official fuckin' video for heaven's sake!

if axl and slash are playing coma and sorry together on stage in 2017, anything is possible.
axl has fully-recorded songs that haven't been released -- we know that for a fact. slash and duff have thousands of ideas and axl has proved he can still sing his fuckin' ass off. if he can sing ac/dc songs like that live, imagine what he can do in the studio!
i think we'll get new music one way or another. there's too much money involved to let this die with 1 world tour.
