I'm glad to see all the Sons of Anarchy love. None of my buddies caught the show while it was on. I used to hype it up and they'd always say they'd catch it sometime, but never did. I can't wait for the next season in September.

What Axlin08 said about Terminator is all true to what I know, too. FOX is trying to rebrand its Friday nights into this 80s action-style double bill. I hope it draws a lot of fans, but doubt it. Friday night is a death slot. Period. Which again, sucks huge balls, because Dollhouse is one of the best new premieres this season.

I agree with you that he was never creepier than in Part II. The potato sack is totally underrated. I think he gets a lot of that creepiness back in the new movie. I also liked the quick-footed, psychopathic hillbilly of Part III. Especially the scenes sans hockey mask.

I've been meaning to catch The Beast. Sons of Anarchy is one of the best shows on TV, but I didn't include it here because it's currently in-between seasons. As for premium stuff, I watch Californication and The Tudors. I'm planning to do some more write ups. I'm still waiting for the return of Rescue Me and a couple others. Stay tuned.

I also agree that Terminator probably won't be seeing a third season, even though it continually improves and shows its strengths as a sci-fi action show. It would be vital to the marketing of Terminator Salvation to have a current show on the air.

While Sheryl Crow's version does blow dog shit, I'm quite taken by...Taken by Trees cover. I included it on a Valentine's Day mix I made for miserable bastards like me, Forlorn Android Painters: The Valentine's Day Album. It's basically that, Elton John, Morrissey, and whatever other delightful stereotype we can apply to the situation of a seriously broken hearted sonofabitch.

...I like the Taken by Trees cover.

With midseason now in full swing, I thought I'd round up some of my favorite shows that I'm keeping tabs on at the moment. This is Part 1.

How I Met Your Mother (CBS)
One of the last sitcoms standing, How I Met Your Mother continues widening its fanbase thanks to stellar writing and an ensemble that includes the madcap genius of Neil Patrick Harris as loathsome lothario Barney Stinson.

Heroes (NBS)
While the fantasy/sci-fi epic has admittedly seen better days, things got kicked up a notch upon entering the third season's second half. Fortunately, with the return of writer Bryan Fuller, the creative upswing looks set to continue.

Nip/Tuck (FX)
Now in the midst of its fifth season's long delayed (thanks writers' strike) second half, TV's most superficial drama has thankfully regained much of its edge and remains my favorite serialized, stylized melodrama.

Burn Notice (USA)
Originally approached by this viewer as "The New Bruce Campbell TV Vehicle I Must Religiously Watch," Burn Notice quickly became an entity unto itself, with Campbell relegated to a supporting (scene stealing) role. This spy series is also USA's best series. Ever.

Degrassi: The Next Generation (The N)
Yeah, I went there.

Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles (FOX)
A vast storytelling improvement over T3, SCC should please fans of the franchise and features the best John Connor since Eddie Furlong (until Christian Bale, who I am done with professionally).

Dollhouse (FOX)
Because its Joss Whedon, creator of Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Firefly. Because Eliza Dushku's always been hot and people are just now realizing it. Because it was given a death sentence and put on FOX's Friday night sci-fi suicide slot (R.I.P. The Adventures of Brisco County Jr., M.A.N.T.I.S., Brimstone, Dark Angel, The Lone Gunmen, the oft-mentioned Firefly, and all the others who have fallen).

I agree on the nostalgia bias. As an aside, even though Part III's my personal favorite, I'd recommend Part IV (The Final Chapter) as a better introduction to the casual fan.

It is a cool song. I believe there was already a thread for this. And this should now be in Horrorshow. kthxbye

#349 The Sunset Strip » Christopher Nolan's Inception (2010) » 899 weeks ago

ComingSoon.net reports thatChristopher Nolan has set up his next project with Warner Bros., an original screenplay he wrote called Inception. The "Dark Knight" director hopes to shoot the sci-fi action film in the summer for a release during summer 2010.

Inception is described as "a contemporary sci-fi actioner set within the architecture of the mind."

This pushes back any potential filming on a third Batman film, but three years -- and The Prestige -- passed between Batman Begins and The Dark Knight. Nolan has also long been attached to direct a big-screen adaptation of the British TV series "The Prisoner" for producer Scott Stuber at Universal.

-Superhero Hype!-

This is exciting news. I was a fan of Nolan's since Memento (lot a lot of us I would guess), and just as I was excited to see him take on the new Batman franchise, I was hoping he wouldn't pull a Sam Raimi and let it otherwise derail the trajectory of his career. My hopes were met when he released The Prestige, which was phenomenal. Aside from directing, the guy's a helluva writer, especially with his brother Jonah in the mix. I'm looking forward to this one.

And then bring on more Batman. 9

I've been addicted to The Air from the soundtrack to The Still Life since I first heard it. In fact, I make it a general habit of visiting Dizzy's MySpace page and letting the music just play in the background while I do writing. I really love the song Fracas especially. This guy's talented, no question. What I'd like to know is where I can get his music. Does he have some sort of demo CD you can pick up somewhere online or is there a way to download these tracks? I mean legally, too. I'll gladly support the guy. His music's just something I'm really into. To be honest, I've unsuccessfully tried to rip the songs from his MySpace page, but my ability to do that seems to have gone south. Any help? Any other fans?
