I would like to hear a new album and that Silkworms performance on the home page is one reason why but there is so much more that leads to the idea of Axl being creatively finished then there is to suggest he's still brimming with inspiration and creative ambition.

Shut up, Taliban. It's a forum, so I'm free to share my view. If you can't accept it, then rejoin your tribe @ HTGTH. That's where you belong.
Wonderful contributions, as always.
Have fun arguing and complaining about imaginary topics, posts and posters.
To be fair the fact GnR is doing absolutely nothing of value at the moment or for a long time now is not imaginary. It's REALITY. Why try and dictate the view people can express? Guns N' Roses give the fan base NOTHING substantial to discuss so as fans we're left to speculate and make assumptions and go off what we know. Not sure why people get so upset over people expressing the obvious point that nothing is happening and then pointing o specific things to back up their point. There are sites that promote universal praise maybe check one of them out.

I prefer bands that are at least trying to be creative. Metallica, NIN, bon Jovi, U2, Pearl Jam etc etc all bands that have been ragged on here recently but name any band that continues to release music that their fans enjoy and you'll have the nay sayers of course saying they're creativley done. Still better to be out there delivering something rather than nothing. If some people perefer Axl's 1 album ever 15 years thing all the power to them. Me I'll take consistent releases with the hopes somthing great materializes. Lots of people believe The Cure hasn't done anything worthwhile since Wish but that's a load of bull. Wild Mood Swings is great and Bloodflowers is possibley their best album. The Cure was not bad, 4:13 Dream left a lot to be desired but 2014 looks to be another Cure release and I'll take another release with the chance it's great over nothing. Axl is doing nothing so........ like I said all the power to those who prefer his appraoch, I just don't understand it.

Backspacer IS a great album. How many actually took the time to listen to the whole thing?

My guess is that song Roar will fade away quickly and she'll launch a way more catchy 2nd single closer to the album release that will blow up the charts. That song is really underwhelming. Having said that it's the sixth-largest sales week for a digital song ever. Chalk that up to people being excited to hear new Katy Perry music regardless. Whether people like her or not the fact is Katy Perry has become a massive pop superstar. Bigger than Lady Gaga because unlike Gaga the primary focus is the music with Katy.

The song doesn't suck and the album art is ok. Anyone who liked Spin the Black Circle would like this song. Very similar. If you liked Spin the Black Circle and think this songs sucks you're lying to yourself and have been blinded by your fantastical expectations of Pearl Jam. Pearl Jam's last album Backspacer was one of, if not their best album in my opinion and the lead single Fixer wasn't mind blowing, just good like this is. I'm excited to hear the whole album.

Call me crazy but I actually think this might be a good choice. Affleck was great in Argo so we know he can act. Just depends on if he can pull this off or not. Nobody liked Heath Ledger as The Joker until we saw him as The Joker so......

Must suck living life as a victim all the time. Poor me, poor us, not or fault, screw everyone else. Blah blah blah. At this point the best thing any of them could do would be to shut the fuck up and get outta sight and outta mind. GnR should disappear and never come back until they have an album to release and promote properly. Stop with the charade that you're anything more than a tribute act at this point.
