I don't need you telling me how much of a fan I am simply because I hate Wal Mart and what they stand for. I'm the administrator of a GNR site. Obviously I'm a fan.

James, I'm not saying you or anyone else isn't a fan, but the only way to truly support the band is to buy their material.  All the fan websites (yours being my personal favorite) in the world aren't gonna keep GN'R making albums and touring.  The key issue I think the anti wal-mart crowd needs to keep in mind and will hopefully help them rest easy, is that you normally have a choice in where to shop. So if you want to shop at your local Bob's IGA in lieu of going to Wally World, so be it; you can get a loaf of bread at either place.  In this particular instance, you may only be able to get CD at one retailer.  in essence you won't be violating your beliefs because you're not choosing to shop at walmart over company X, they have a product you like, so you have to buy it there.  Just like a Corvette is made by Chevrolet.  You have to goto  a Chevy dealer to buy a new one.

This all ultimately stems down to the ethics behind internet piracy of music.  I'm not going to discuss that here as we all have our opinions and justifications.  But to think that album we've all been dreaming up for the past 14 or so years is going to be available, and some people won't buy it because it's at a store they don't like is bullshit to me.  The whole reason Best buy or Wal_mart would enter this agreement is because they know people will more than likely buy other things while in the store.  Buy the damn CD off their website or pay someone else to buy the thing for you.  I just don't want to see the sales and ultimate success of this album fail because of a completely unrelated issue to the band itself.  It's no like Guns N' Roses is trying to make this retail exclusive.  Geffen/interscope as well as the band are trying to get their investment back in the safest way possible.  There is nothing orthodox about Guns N' Roses, why would their album sale be any different.

Ironically I can remember an interview with Axl back at the release of the UYI albums where he says K-Mart & Wal-Mart refusing to carry the albums because of the PA was costing them major sales.

Yet now, Wal-Mart might just be the company to SAVE Chinese Democracy from being a financial flop.

The irony.

Very good point.  Further proof that people shouldn't let personal politics get involved with their music and vice versa.  If you support Guns N' Roses, you'll buy the album anyway you can, be it going into wal-mart or using I-Tunes.  Someone who refuses to buy a copy of this album for some contradictory ideal isn't a real fan.

What I find laughable in all of this banter is that most of you support an exclusive deal with best buy but not wal-mart.  Best Buy is a national chain and is putting other stereo/computer/television stores out of business.  More importantly, a best Buy exclusive deal would keep the album away from the local mom and pops thus adding to your beliefs that corporate America is harming small business.  Regardless if Best Buy or Wal-mart get it, it takes sales away from every other record store in the world.

Personally I support Wal-Mart and Best Buy 100%.  If you don't possess a skill that can't be easily replaced by someone who speaks poor english and lives 15k miles away, the last person(s) you should be mad at our the employers.  Unions drive up the costs of production which result in higher prices which result in less sales which result in less revenue.  I'm not going to go on a rant here, but there's nothing wrong with competition.  You earn what you're worth and unskilled labor isn't worth very much.

I've had Sirius for over 2 years now and fucking love it.  Listen to Stern every day in to work.  Once you get on the satellite bandwagon, you'll never go back.  Programming is so much better and the merger will only amplify the wide diversity of choice.  Terrestrial radio will be a thing of the past in the near future.

I expect that this song has to leak soon, the game is only a month or so off.

Damn I thought Better was gonna take it for sure, but I won't be heartbroken if TWAT wins.

THIS MOVIE WAS AMAZING.!!!   FUCKING OUTSTANDING!  I can't express how pleased I was with it.  I admit I was initially skeptical about Ledger playing the joker, but the idea began to grow on me as I heard more about his portrayl.  This movie was way hyped and I didn't think it possible to meet up to the expectation, but it delivered in every way possible.
