Awesome performance. Just watched Coma after it. Fantastic. Everyone is firing on all cylinders. During YCBM, mostly everyone is drunk as fuck. haha..love it!
For some contrast...
... this is what the song sounds like live these days (pro shot for proper comparison). Obviously Axl sounds horrible, but even the band who do an admirable job on the more bombastic songs are able to suck all of the anger and venom out of this song, Izzy or no Izzy... It just sounds lifeless.

Each his own. For me CD got that level of ambition, quality and sophistication listening to GN'R made me accustomed to.
Ambition for sure. And it's easy to tell Axl was going for sophistication, but to me the result doesn't match his aspirations. But you're right, Slash songs don't have ambition nor do they aspire sophistication. I personally think Slash is just going for fun, energetic songs (with obviously mixed results as well). For me personally GNR stood for angry, energetic and surely sophisticated hard rock. None of the solo efforts nor CD have that ultimate mix that to me defines a true GNR record, but as far as my personal tastes go, at least IFOCS comes close. The one difference probably being that Dover's anger is expressed in a slightly more melancholic, whiney way than Axl's anger (which at least in the glory days was more edgy, combative, raw. More hard rock than grunge).

Slash has Dover, that Snakepit II hack, Weiland and Kennedy. Weiland is the only one who's acceptable in that group, still they couldn't crunch out more than a couple of good songs. With the exception of that brief first VR album burst, Slash has been dead creatively since 1991. I'd take almost any song on CD over all his work.
Although I'd agree about Snakepit II and even to a certain extent the solo stuff, IFOCS has better songs, better singing, better playing and better production than CD. To me CD sounds just as uninspired as the post-It's 5 o' clock Slash solo stuff. Granted, Slash has more bad songs, so there's more of Slash's stuff to be disappointed in. But I'd hardly see his relative productivity compared to Axl as something to hold against him. CD is probably no better than anything any of the other guys did AND it took a gazillion years and dollars to make...

Shit Axl, seriously man, i'll fucking write for you. All you have to do is melodies and sing it. Get on with it...
Or, put differently, "Just shut up and sing"

Wait, Slash can legally sign documents like this with "Slash"? That's pretty cool...

Bought Max Payne 3 on Thursday. Beat it Friday night. It was awesome. Also bought LA Noire. Hated the characters. Didn't like the stories, hated the game play. Boring. Forced myself to finish it.
I'm eyeing Dead Space and Arkham City next. Is DS any good?
DS is very, very good... First time I played it I wasn't able to finish it due to a strange difficulty spike in the middle of the game which forced me to keep playing the same map over and over again. Gave up after a while. Second time around (started from the beginning again) I blew past that level as if it was nothing, I figure I must have missed something on my first pass.
Besides that you should probably be aware that the game can feel desolate at times, which is of course the atmosphere they are going for, but can be off putting to some people (I loved it, personally).
You've reminded me that I still have DS2 laying around somewhere that I still need to start!

Completed The Last of Us, damn that was a good game, what a gripping story.
Told ya so
.
I'm having a hard time finding a worthy follow-up though... I had high hopes for Beyond Two Souls, but it's definitely less interactive than Heavy Rain and not nearly as fun to play. Still a good story and good acting by Ellen Page and William Dafoe, but not enough game to even come up to even earn the right to be in the same room with The Last of Us.

Well, we don't play Dominion as a collectible card game as such, it's nothing like Magic The Gathering or Pokemon where the more money you spend the more competitive you are. I'm not into that myself. It's perfectly possible to just buy the first full box and play only that for the rest of your lives... (actually, we have two compatible starter kits between two of our group, so thats pretty much what we do). So I'd say give it a shot, it's the sort of thing thats easy to pick up but deceptively hard to master...
Depending on the type of night we're looking for I'd say we have two top contenders: Eclipse for the hardcore stuff and Ticket To Ride with the extended, more casual crowd. Although we stopped playing the European map in Ticket To Ride; once you know how it's too easy to win and if everyone knows how it becomes purely a matter luck alone...
Besides that we also do some classic tabletop roleplaying once in a while. Great fun if you have someone in your group who is willing to spend the time preparing the sessions. I'm personally more of an overall atmosphere/fun kinda guy than a hardcore strategist, so RPGs and cooperative games in general are very much my bag.

Big boardgame geek here... Never played lords of waterdeep, but besides that one we have all in games your list amongst our regular group of players. Depending on whether or not you like the really long games you should check out Twilight Imperium, which sometimes takes us up to 8-9 hours for a six player game: http://boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/1249 … rd-edition
Slightly more manageable but in the same style is Eclipse: typically 2 to 4 hours, depending on how good the players are: http://boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/72125/eclipse
I personally really enjoy Arkham Horror, but that's because I'm fond of the Cthulhu lore: http://boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/15987/arkham-horror
Those are all fairly complex (definitely more complex than settlers and ticket to ride, game of thrones would come a bit closer) and you need to be in the mood for that of course. Some simpler beer-and-pretzel games I like are Dominion (although that is technically a card game...) http://boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/36218/dominion which still is quite competitive, or something like Dixit which works better when some of our less competitive significant others also want to play: http://boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/39856/dixit
I'd never heard the term Eurogames before... I guess that's probably because we just call them 'games' over here?

Don't think this has been posted here before;
So, Tomorrowland is probably the biggest dance festival in the world. Slash was special guest for DJ Chuckie.
Can't say it's my kinda music; still cool that he goes out there and does so many different things.
