I didn't believe it when someone texted me.  Guy was one of the greats.  He'll be sadly missed.

I had a good weekend on Fan Duel.  Bought in for $25 and now have $100 in my account (big spender!).  Raiders, Steelers and Saints helped make that happen.

They know a live album won't generate much interest at all. They could do it as a quick cash grab but I don't get the feeling that's what this is about. Absurd as a single does not point in the direction of easy profits.

Absurd doesn't point in the direction of any profit.  The mainstream aren't celebrating it and it's dropped off all the charts.  In the most positive light possible, the die hards of this forum are evenly split on whether it is a good song or complete trash.  I like Hard Skool, but it's not Paradise City or KOHD.  Hell, it's not even Better.  If we're talking about profits and generating buzz, they need an A list track to make that happen.  And none of the CD B-sides, even the ones without lyrics some fans obsess over, hit that mark.  Keep in mind every single one of us here is biased in favor of the band; we're going to like songs that don't resonate with most music listeners.

Coincidentally, YouTube put a video in front of me the other day from an Oprah Winfrey episode from the late 80s where Paul Stanley and Gene Simmons were the guests for the topic of groupies and rock stars.  If you show up backstage with your tits and ass cheeks hanging out, you have no one else to blame when everyone thinks you're there to blow the band.  The girls going backstage know this, and so do the bands.

I had front row tickets to see GN'R in 2016.   A couple of perfect 10s were sitting next to me, dressed exactly how girls who want to get backstage dress.  They told me they were friends of Frank's, and I was inclined to believe them.  Not 5 minutes later, Frank comes out, spots them, they waive at each other, and security comes to hand them passes and escort them backstage.  I joked to one of them "I want to go backstage too", and she laughed and said "It is what it is".

Drugging someone and raping them as defined under legal codes is fucking wrong and anyone and everyone should be held accountable for that.  But if you choose to dress like a stripper, snort a couple of lines and go backstage with a member of the band, you don't get to claim regret afterwards.  No, your fantasy of your pussy being so amazing Axl Rose forgets he fucked Stephanie Seymour not manifesting isn't rape or abusing their power.  Anymore than if Lana Rhoades grabbed my dick and told me she has the perfect place to park it, would I be a rape victim if I followed through.

Nobodies looking for a payday capitalizing on the fact they spread their legs for a rock god in the late 1980s on the road in St Louis.  This kind of bullshit shouldn't be encouraged or sympathized with.

I don't know where to ask this question but...

Do you think Gn'R is releasing:
1. Hard School and Absurd only
2. A full-length LP (New album)
3. Live CD with studio bonus tracks

I don't know the profit margins for albums in today's world, but I'd guess a live performance is most likely.  We got the Vegas act on a Blu-Ray, and the Tokyo shows from 91?.  If a studio was mixing and an album was shipping to print, we'd know about it.  No one could keep that a secret and this forum would be flooded with copies of those tracks, just as we were in mid 2008 when CD shit started to leak from the album.

If they sold 100k copies of a physical single with or without Hard Skool attached to Absurd, I'd be shocked.  Hell, my record collection and stereo is 6 feet behind me in my office, and 99% of the time I want to hear music, I say "Alexa".

Just make it up as you go along. That’s what he does. COVID is a bigger threat to children than the flu, black people aren’t murdering each other in record numbers, Biden isn’t the laughing stock of the international community. Cops seek out infants to shoot in their car seats. If you put your penis in a minority, you become one and can speak for them.

Then admit you’re intentionally ignorant, don’t care, and have no interest in intelligent discourse. But your opinion is just as valid as everyone else’s and probably superior.

It just reminded me when I saw you and Randall butting heads. We are quick to fight each other but not so much the real problem: those who run this shitshow. It is also an example how governments can squeeze people.

No butting heads.  I replied to ID, then Mitch popped in to provide his usual non-contribution post.  I ignored it, like I do 90% of his posts.  Carry on.

Biden just ordered a shot in every arm. Yea, it won’t survive a week before courts stay it, but all the talk of fascism and abuse of power lobbied at Trump, and who’s actually doing it?  Afghanistan won’t be forgotten, and the DNC can’t even govern. If you think 3 more years won’t pacify the media’s COVID hysterics that cost Trump 2020, I strongly disagree.  Save all the people who voluntarily received the vaccine under Trump’s operation warp speed, Covid is no better today than it was in January. What victories does Biden have to celebrate?  His foreign policy is an utter disaster, illegal immigration and homicides are at their highest in decades. And his party wants to sink a 1.5 trillion dollar infrastructure plan. If they can’t do this, they’re completely fucked when Congress goes completely GOP in January 23. Trump may be toxic, but whoever the Republican nominee is will have his endorsement and rallies.
