Well, they just had a press conference & it appears he isn't being replaced.

#5144 Re: The Sunset Strip » Most Recent Movie You've Seen » 907 weeks ago

I saw a really cool indie film called The Killing of John Lennon. Aside from the subject matter of making a movie on Lennons killer, it was pretty well done. Reminded me of Fight Club in both it's look, and the narrated voice over (it uses actual quotes from Chapman). The lead actor who plays Mark David Chapman was great. I didn't get to finish it as I was tired & fell asleep on the couch (a favorite pastime of mine recently) but I'll have to catch the rest tonight.

Pretty good description & review.

You cannot be serious.  Witten, Williams, Barber, Owens, Romo, Ware, Newman, Ratliff etc. etc. etc. So little talent? Gimme a break CC. they are one of if not the most talented teams in the entire league.

Take off Roy Williams (WR), Romo, I'm not sure who Ratliff is?! He seems like an ok defensive back, but no better than most db's in the league. Cowboys have:

Witten - Really good TE
Barber - Power RB, I admit he was hurt yesterday & last week.
TO - Seems on the downside of his career. Wouldn't surprise me if he's not back with Dallas next year.
Demetrius Ware - Great young DE
Newman - Good DB

That's just it though, this great highly talented team people thought Dallas had turned out to be just 4 or 5 great or almost great players. Whatever happened to Tank Johnson??? Remember he was considered their high profile "talent".  Romo's not, I can't understand why you put him on the list? That's like saying Kurt Warner in Arizona is great.

I don't think there's any way Wade Phillips is back, I don't care what Jerry Jones said. Oddly enough Bono my broither & I were talking & I was saying how Jason Garrett was all but promised the next Cowboy head coaching job, but my brother said he felt they'd try to get Cowher.  We'll see.

Favorite line from yesterday, TO asked what went wrong at the game. TO's response: "Bro I couldn't tell you." 14 14 16

WOO-HOOOOOO!!!! Eagles smoke the Cowboys AND make the playoffs. Can't ask for a better finish to the season than that.

Wade Phillips - Gone!
Pacman Jones - Gone!
Roy Williams - Gone!

C ya!

Merry Christmas everybody!!

#5149 Re: The Garden » The Rant Thread » 907 weeks ago

Not really a rant but I got into a fender bender today. My car was fine, but I'm always unsure exactly what to do in these circumstances. Years ago I hit a lady (similar thing, but that time I rear ended her at a light) and her car was fine, she was nice & just asked for my insurance info to take it down. She said one time she was hit in a similar way, and checked it out & let it go. A few days/weeks later had car problems underneatch the bumper (brakes/Axel or something) and had to pay for it since she didn't have the guys insurance info since she chose to walk away. I never forgot her telling me this.

A few months ago a lady rear ended me. It was a friday just got out of work, small street, blocking traffic etc. I got out to look, sure car seemed fine, I let it go. Sure enough, a day later my brakes have been making some creaking noise. I kicked myself for not getting her info.

So today, I'm at a red light, looking to turn right (we can in our state). A car was kindof far away but moving fast, so I chose not to turn. The guy behind thought I went & began driving, hitting my rear. He drove a HUGE GMC van too. So I got out, asked if he's ok & looked. Car seemed fine, but I didn't want to take any chances. I call 911, cops came & seemed confused why I called?!  I said I didn't want to make a big deal over it, just get a police report in case somethings wrong with my car later on. The guy looks at my car like "What are you talking about?" I wanted to say "Hey asshole...." but figured whatever. I asked if going forward I should call in these situtations, he said no, normally if nobodies injured or needs to be towed just ask for the other persons insurance.

What planet do you guys live on??

This albums ok, but it's farrr from being obviously great. I can see how people wouldn't like it. Especially people who aren't on the forums (ppl we lend it to or heard CD or Better on the radio). Granted there's some slight 'haters' on the forums, but I haven't seen anyone blatantly trash it. Just giving their honest, less than impressed opinion of it. Personally, I think it's good. Not really great. Not a masterpiece. I think if I re-reviewed it I'd knock it down from an 8/10 to a 7, as I skip almost half the tracks when I'm driving. Some of the tracks on there are not much more than filler stuff I'd expect to hear on a Third Eye Blind album.

The people I know don't give a shit about it. Its just a pretty average album to people so you're not gonna see casual type fans go apeshit over this record.

That just about sums it up. The Monday after it came out, I brought it to work & put it on a shared drive. I told the 5 or so relatively young (25-45) people in my department about it & they said they'd give it a listen. I think only 1 guy listened to it, and gave  a generic "It's good, I  haven't heard it all though yet". I gave it time, and he never responded. I got the hint. It's got some listenable songs on it (Ballads, Better, CD), then some skippable tracks. One of my friends is a pretty big fan, I don't think he visits the boards, but he likes it. Another friend who is 37 said he likes the song on the radio. His brother, 25, hates it & thinks it's crap.

That's it, but mostly people don't care very much, there wasn't "17 years of anticipation" since this band didn't do anything 17 years ago. And yes one lady even responded "So who's in it anymore, is it the old band now?" Another girl asked me the same thing about a year or two ago, when she found out I was a fan.

10  Not me, AFD kicks the shit out of ANY other GNR album and most any other rock album.

Yeah, I know I'm gonna open a real can of worms here but I'd go so far as to say if someone likes CD over AFD... they're not a GnR fan.
