Anythings possible, but I don't think Better (or another single) will do the trick. Mainly, it's going into 'horrible cd buying time'. ie. Post-Holidays, paying off my cc bills, saving money, snowstorms, too cold out, high heating bills, waiting for my tax return etc.
There's a reason big albums never come out January thru March. Peoples minds & money go elsewhere. Same thing with movies. A summer tour is about the only thing that would help push sales to Contraband levels.

That's pretty cool you guys drove that far. Sucks you had to, but probably made for an interesting experience. Must have been surreal both driving to buy CD but also KNOWING you're driving that far to pick up CD.

It's definitely a dig at Axl but Reznors been doing it for years and others have said much worse I doubt Axl will be too upset by this one.
I agree. It's not that big a deal to me. It a diss, but pretty minor imho. This shouldn't be a big deal. Besides, not all of Trents recent efforts have been masterpieces either.

I think BH quit after the whole 2002 tour cancellation fiasco went down. I don't think he's that kind of performer & didn't like being a part of all that. Since Axl has a reputation for it, I think he'll never tour with GNR again.

Who cares. It's not 100% BB's fault for stinky sales. It's not 100% the labels fault for doing it. Remember it's partially Axl's fault for running up a $13 million dollar tab on this, setting expectations astronomically high. Now, with only Axl in the band anymore all anyone's asking is "So who's in it anymore, is it just Axl??". This albums good, but not $13 million dollars good. Remember alot of people hated Axl Rose, and remember him as immature or an ass. And while they might buy a GnR album with Slash & Duff etc, they're not going to buy one without them.

I'll agree with most of what you said except that the album wasn't as good as most had envisioned. From what I've read that couldn't be further from the truth. Sure there are people who say the album is only average, but for the most part I find fans are loving the album. This is a more popular site to dislike the album than HTGTH, but even here it seems that the album has reached MOST peoples expectations.
It's a good album, there's a few steamers on it that should have been replaced. But overall it's pretty solid. I can't lie though, I wish there were more songs I never heard before. Take off some of the turds. But then again, myb the Atlas's & Oklahoma's et al weren't much better. Who knows?!

That's exactly what I was going to say James. We're all happy to have it, most of us could care less about how well it sells, but the biggest factor for the "underwhelmement" of the forums is the fact we heard what, 11 out of 14 songs already. And I'm not just talking about it leaking a week or 2 early like every album does (VR, Metallica). We heard about half these songs years ago!!
Good point War. Yeah, an album which 85% of it leaked a long time ago certainly doesn't appease the hardcore fans. An album of non-leaks (or many newer unheard songs) certainly would have.

That's pretty weak, to talk about another man's girl like that. Even if it is his ex, 'sloppy seconds' is junior high shit. The worst is watched how he says it, its obviously pre-meditated & scripted. I could understand if it was an off-hand joke that was made in poor taste, or if he was asked about the awkward situation, but he went out of his way to mention it.
