So GNR at the peak of their success, and with the record industry still riding high as well, sold 770k of UYI2. So with the lack of an epic music video in heavy rotation on MTV, the lack of Axl doing promotional interviews, the changes in the music industry, etc., if with all that they can still move 500k I'd think that was quite an accomplishment.
You're missing something... UYI1 came out the same day!! So at the height of GnR's success & blah blah blah they sold about 1.5 million copies in a week, not just 770k.
It's all apples & oranges anyway, the best comparison are to Metallica & ACDC. I think it'll be in about that range. 500K sounds a little high to me in regards to how many it will sell, but it'd be an achievement in this day & age.

It's a good song. Personally I don't get all the hype. I think Street of Dreams is better.

And when scraped started to play, after the intro was done, she just went and turned off the stereo turned away and went to play with her toys a happy kid.
Funny, I did the exact same thing..

I don't know much about iTunes figures, so straight cd sales alone I'll guess 250K.
Comparing it to the Metallica album would be a good barometer. I'd say it'd be slightly less than whatever that was.

Sorry everyone, I should have been more clear. I click 'Start Rip' and get an error message saying "Media Player could not rip one or more of the tracks." I think it has to with the copy protection on it, but I'm not sure. I've burned a few cd's before, & put video to DVD, so I'm pretty sure the burner isn't bad. I really think it's a copyright thing. I checked yahoo answers, didn't see much.

Oddly enough I can't rip this on my PC. I had the same problem with Metallica?! I'm just trying to put it onto my phones memory card so I can listen with headphones while at the gym. Is anyone good with this stuff? My PC is only 2 years old & I tried gettting the newest version of Windows Media Player. No luck.

Shackler's, Riad, Scraped.
What he said. Plus ITW. I was never a fan of IRS, but I wouldn't say I dislike it as much as these skreetchers.

People also talk of these giant displays. Where? I didn't see anything when I bought my copy yesterday.
I think people have varying degrees (or embellish) of the word "giant".
Mine had a display. Decent size. Would hold probably 100 cd's (guessing, myb more, myb less). Again, guessing about 25-50 were left. Could be looked at either way. Could be "Giant display & they were selling out" or "lame ass 2 bit display & I was the only one buying it. Only about 50 had been sold so far."
The sales figures certainly won't be huge. Can't pass the blame onto BB since they CHOSE to go thru them.
