I still haven't heard them.  At this point I can make it, easy...

I doubt the Mexico thing is true. Usually record companies send advance copies to music reviewers to get them in time for publication. Most Sunday newspapers will probably have a review of the album in the arts & entertainment section. Also circulars like RS, Spin, Maxim etc. It was probably a journalist who leaked it.

That's about it though, it's coming out Sunday, BB only. I don't think Axl's given an interview on it. So basically, not much.

I'd compare it to concert venue prices. Usually beer & snacks (dogs, peanuts etc) are pretty high, $6 or so. Also parking can probably be $10 or $20 bucks. Try eating well before hand & having a few beers in the parking lot, so you need less inside. Have fun, & dress warm, bring gloves & a winter hat.

There has been a lot of talk about how they may have just merged some of these songs with some songs that ended up on the album. i dont particularly buy that. i don't know how come up with titles like Atlas Shrugged, Ides of March, Seven, Thyme, Zodiac, and Oklahoma based on instrumentals.

Would it be possible Thyme could have been TWAT??

Anyway, ashame Oklahoma & The General never saw the light of day. I was interested in hearing them.  How about Prostitute, is that definitely Song#2 or whatever?!

They should get Evan Dando. He's from that era, a good singer/songwriter, and not doing much lately. IIRC he doesn't mind playing small clubs. Even played a relatively small bar around here a couple years ago.

Ok, I was just adding some in addition to yours. Some of yours I agree with (Slash, Kirk).

I think 02-03 was the time. They had the VMA hype, BH was becoming known as their guitarist, hot music at the time like Korn, Limp Bizkit Papa Roach would have had their doors blown off by GnR, and they were better known as fairly recent & awaited. Now, it just seems like too long ago & a whole generation behind. 2006 would have also been good, probably 2nd best time inho, when the leaks created good buzz.

I'm glad it's coming out, and happy he finally is releasing it. But I don't have expectations outside of hearing 2 or 3 singles get some moderate airplay, and a tour (hopefully) from the band.  Outside of that, it won't be revolutionary to the modern world.

Jerry Cantrell,Stone Gossard/Mike McCready (never knew which if either were lead), Kim Thayill, John Frusciante.

I went with the grunge angle.. Grunge grunge grunge grunge.... Also Hendrix man, WTF, where's he??

For what it's worth, BBF was on a morning radio show here. I didn't hear much of it, mainly because the DJ is a total douche (Danny Bonaducce), and they talked more about goofing up the name BBF (Bublewhack, Bushwhack, hahahaha, hey Bonnaducce, how about dickface you ass) than GnR. Needless to say it was more annoying than informative, but it leads me to believe there's no doubt BBF still in the band. Probably at least.
