Maybe we will finally see that Perfect Crime (I think that's the name) documentary or whatever it was that was filmed during the Illusions tour.

Seen some folk hoping to hear something new that isn't Hardschool but to be honest until we see a setlist emerge with other alts then I really doubt it. Not sure they've played any song since the reunion that didn't have a video graphic associated with it so any performance seems premeditated typically.

Another question is: how many other songs in the vault do they have that are mainstream and have broad appeal?

The Dems will be on the losing side of this if they persist.

It should not be politcal at all.  I'd like to think that most people would get the shots because they want their community and cities to go back to normal and to make sure that this doesn't spread and affect those closest to them.  But that's apparently too much to ask for a large segment of the population.

It only gets "real" for these people if they catch it, then they go into the I should have gotten the vax sob story.

I know I come off as negative a lot of time, but I really hope they take advantage of this and release an album.  And has Lofton has said, provides a nice booked (in terms of an album) for their career.  It's been too long.  I want them to have another moment where they are near the top (or whatever would constitute that in the present).

There were a lot of antoi-vaxxers to begin with, so it's not so much political. A lot of people are afraid of how quickly it was developed. Some people just don't like shots.

But most people have had multiple vaccines (measles, chicken pox etc..) so I never really got the anti-vax part of that argument AT ALL.  And this thing has been out since December.  There's more than enough data to indicate that yes you should get yourself vaccinated.  I mean, if you're unvaccinated NOW, that's on you and no one else.

Does anyone know if Slash's solo album would interferre with any of these plans?  I can't belive I'm asking that.

Crazy how everyone starts paying attention when new things get unveiled.

And the press is either neutral or positive.

Clearly the press are ready to give whatever they put out a fair shake, they should capitalise on this buzz and get Hardschool and Absurd out the door as singles plus announce a fall time window for a new record.

The media always wanted him back on top. He took various criticisms too seriously and bought into his own fan base's wacky theories.

They wanted him back in 1999, 2001, 2002, 2006, and 2016.

How many openings can they give the guy?

Yes....they need a single out ASAP.

Single: Hardschool

B side: Silkworms

Wrap that fucker in cellophane and sell it to me.

Press is press.  They're getting mentioned which is important.  Again from a band (or guy) who seems to have squandered every opportunity for momentum in the last 20 years, I really hope they take advantage of this now.

Oh,  I agree with whomever said a few pages back that the original lyrics from 20 years ago were far better.

And yeah, they never really hated him (aside from a few journos) but he just built up this distrust for the media and it just snowballed.

Both Old school and Absurd were on the alt setlists for the first two shows of the tour.   Maybe they really planned on debuting new music on this tour.

#539 Re: The Sunset Strip » Most Recent Movie You've Seen » 249 weeks ago

Thunderbolt and Lightfoot--1970s Clint Eastwood and Jeff Bridges film.  Probably underlooked/under rated.  It's sort of a buddy film/heist film/contrast between the guys from the 50s and the flower power/hippies generation of the 1960s.  It works because the acting is great and the script is pretty good.

Deep Cover: 90s film w/Laurence Fishburne and Jeff Goldblum.  First time watching this and wow.  Beautiful neo noir film.  Sleazeball characters all around.  Plus it's sort of a critique on how useless/what a farce the war on drugs from the late 80s-90s was.

#540 Re: Guns N' Roses » We don't really expect a new setlist do we? » 249 weeks ago

I've hated Silkworms for the longest time.  I just found it to be a mess.

But this reworked version with Slash and Duff (aka Absurd) is quite good.
