There are far worse places to be.  Their first album stands up pretty well against any rock out there since it was released.  The third album is pretty good too, but the second one is a little too Axl for me.

What a kick-ass band!

Can I be part of the street team?  That way when people see you guys, they won't say I'm too negative, just honest.  16

Rob Thomas - Vocals, Piano
Freddie Mercury - Vocals, Piano
Slash - Lead Guitar
BBF - Rhythm/Lead Guitar
Izzy Stradlin - Rhythm Guitar, Songwriting
Paul McCartney - Bass, Vocals
Phil Collins - Drums, Vocals

I think this band could have as much flexibility musically as any band since the Beatles.  4 guys that can sing, all very good at their instruments, and combining the guitar songwriting of Izzy/Slash with the arrangements of Freddie and Paul could be insane.  Obviously this could never work (or happen) but I think it could be one of the most interesting bands to hear.

I included BBF because he's shown the willingness and abilty to handle both lead and rhythm parts and he brings something to the table that Slash can't/doesn't with his speed - obviously there are other guitarists that could fit that role as well.

Izzy is included for a similar reason.  There are other guitarists that can fill that role, but Izzy and Slash were amazing complimenting each other and he brings so much ability in songwriting for the guitar.

I'm guessing he thinks it's Jungle and SCOM, which sort of proves he has more than 2.

This is hard...there are so many songs worthy of being voted off.

#5518 Re: Guns N' Roses » Fortus: GNR tour should begin in late March '09 » 907 weeks ago

You don't really think this is going to happen, do you?  Maybe 2 years touring other places, but the US isn't interested.  I just got back from south Florida for Christmas and my brother in law is close friends with a best buy manager.  He called to ask if I'd be interested in buying CD for $4.99 and I told him no.  He couldn't fill a tour in the US when there was mistique and now he's going to when there is no mistique or interest in the album?  Fat chance.

one thing that continues to amaze me is the die-hard gnr community's lack of love for great hard rock gnr songs. Shackler's, CD, IRS, Scraped are among my favs.

with that said, one rocker i can't get into is Riad. it's my least favorite song on the album. and it gets my vote for elimination.

It's great that you like them, but the songs aren't that good.  The reaction has been pretty fair overall.
