ultimately, IMO, Axl needs to release CD before any comparisons can be drawn to Slash's post gnr career

I agree, the leaks (basically demo's, if you think they'll sound like that on an album you are mistaken) are far from mind-blowing. They have potential, and with decent tweaking & arrangement could be great The Blues, Better). Right now they really aren't. This could be another 2002/2006 anyway. Don't count your chickens before they hatch.

#5823 Re: The Sunset Strip » Bob Saget roast - Norm Macdonald's set » 925 weeks ago

That's Norm's schtick though. Always has been. If you look at his SNL skits they were terrible. Just one basic premise & a bunch of ad-libbing. Remember his awesome Bob Dole impression, probably the funniest Political impersonation ever. Why??  I have no friggin idea but it was funny. Weekend update was the same thing, he made the jokes unfunny. So much so it became funny because he was making fun of the unfunny jokes. I think I read in Rolling Stone years ago the writers & cast didn't like him. When Farley & Sandler left he didn't get along with the new cast (Will Ferrell, Chris Kattan). I remember he even said he didn't like Kattan "He came off as gay".  Ultimately he was from SNL for various reasons.

This bit wasn't that great, Cauliflower was good. But overall, he tanked. Which is exactly what he was trying to do. Just look at  Jon Lovits, Bob Sagets & John Stamos  reactions, they see right thru it.

I agree. McCain just keeps on chugging. VP choice is definitely big this time around. I think if Obama chose Kerry or McCain chose Romney they'd end up losing. Lieberman, while interesting choice, I think would flounder in the debates. That's what ruined Gore, you had 2 unmotivating, boring, stiff nominees (I'm not saying McCain is, but Lieberman still is). Biden would tear him apart. Palin is interesting, but I think her being from Alaska hurts her by not bringing a state or region, plus wasn't she in the news for some kind of investigation (having her sisters ex-husband fired from being a state trooper).

Obama VP buzz squarely on Biden

From CNN Ticker Producer Alexander Mooney

Speculation is building Biden will be named Obama's running mate.
(CNN) - When Joe Biden returns to Capitol Hill Monday from his two-day trip to embattled Georgia, vice presidential speculation will rest squarely on him.

The longtime Delaware senator and former presidential candidate has long been considered to be on the shortlist for Barack Obama's running mate, but his quickly-planned strip to Georgia Saturday night at the behest of that country's president left Washington buzzing he is the most likely choice.

After all, the Georgia crisis appears to have put national security issues again at the forefront of the presidential campaign, and it's an issue where John McCain has long held the advantage over Obama. The Illinois senator, so the Beltway chatter goes, needs a running-mate with foreign policy experience now more than ever.

Watch: Obama narrowing down VP list?

If Biden does aspire to be on the Democratic presidential ticket, the trip couldn't have come at a better time '” reinforcing his lengthy resume on matters of foreign policy and reminding voters, and Obama, he is well respected by foreign leaders half a world away.

The trip also comes days before Obama is expected to reveal his VP choice '” with only days remaining until the Democratic convention, the choice is expected to come this week.

CNN Political Market: Biden's stock on the rise

But of course Biden suggested before he left Saturday he isn't making the trip for political reasons.
"I am going to Georgia this weekend to get the facts first-hand and to show my support for Georgia's people and its democratically-elected government," he said in a statement. "I look forward to reporting to my colleagues in the Senate and on the Foreign Relations Committee, as well as the Administration, about what I learn."

He may have one or two conversations with his colleague from Illinois too.

John Kerry?!

Obama will lose a lot of votes and possibly even the election because of it.  I would not want Kerry.  Period.

Yeah, that'd be a pretty bad choice. Anyway, I don't think it will be him.

If it's Walmart I'm not going to buy it. BB I'll think about it, but if it leaks I'll just keep the burned version. I don't need some j/o telling me where to shop.

#5830 Re: The Garden » Fantasy football anyone? » 926 weeks ago

Wed at 9:45 works for me. I dunno about anyone else. It's gotta be hard getting people from all different time zones to be able to make it. I don't know much about it but can it be set up so if people cannot attend there's is set up for "auto draft??  Otherwise, I'm willing to select picks for anyone if they can't make it. It's all a crapshoot anyway really.
