A reunion plus Freese? I'd buy that for a dollar.

Maybe the fanbase badmouths the "scene" because the scene's efforts to undermine Axl and GN'R have caused untold delays in the release of the music and have turned opportunists and attention whores into pseudo-celebrities and genuine starfuckers. You're not doing us a favor. Stop leaking shit. It's 11 days. Buy the goddamn album or not, but stop hiding behind this anonymous "I'm an online god" bullshit.

This ain't a scene, it's a goddamn arms race.

Anyone who would make fun of you for enjoying the Guns needs their role in your life to be promptly reevaluated. russtcb, if I was anywhere near Detroit Rock City I'd love to join you. As it is, I'm gonna struggle to head to either NYC or Boston. I'm doing my best right now to clear things out of the way.

Here's the relevant part:

"VELVET REVOLVER fell apart because there were too many big egos in the band — and I'm including myself," he said. "It wasn't necessarily about bad egos, just big egos, and unfortunately, it just mistakenly kind of eroded."

BLS, I'm thinking of making it out to NYC, too. Let me know. We should try to get as many of us Gunners here to meet up at these different cities.

Looks like we jumped the gun. I did some digging.

It's Tribute Band Week on Letterman!
By Thomas Conner

They do this in Chicago on Halloween -- the tribute bands get a lot of club bookings, and we all have fun grooving to fake musicians. Next week, on Letterman's late-night talk show, the tribute bands hit the big time ...

From Monday through Nov. 21 next week, "The Late Show with David Letterman" (10:35 p.m. weeknights on CBS) will feature Tribute Bands Week. They're billing it as a means of "celebrating some of the most iconic names in music."

Here's a list of the bands scheduled, and the icons they ape:

-- Monday: Purple Reign (Prince tribute band)

-- Tuesday: The Cold Hard Cash (Johnny Cash tribute band)

-- Wednesday: Mr. Brownstone (Guns N' Roses tribute band) ... what the real band couldn't show up to promote the long-awaited, anticlimactic "Chinese Democracy"?!

-- Thursday: Super Diamond (Neil Diamond tribute band)

-- Friday: The Allstarz (James Brown tribue band)

In November 2008 we got a new president, a new James Bond movie, and a new Guns N' Roses album. You can't beat that. That's a trifecta right there.

Axlin08 and tejastech08, I'm happy to see the Prostitute love. Glad to know I'm not the only one. That's a damn fine song. Only behind TWAT as CD's best song for me, and both are two of GN'R's best songs overall.
